Ten weeks away from home. Wow ****ing wee, hardly a lot to sacrifice is it to get paid handsomely. I like hearn but he talks bollocks at times. Hardly like burns spent time in a bomb zone is it ffs. I don't feel sorry for burns.

Ricky has made sacrifices for years not just the last 10 weeks, IMO Eddie let himself down a bit with some of his comments really.
Before the Crawford fight seriously Ricky was looking fantastic in sparring but ended up losing to IMO a excellent fighter on the night.
I was totally gutted for Ricky last night

If it's not broken don't fix it Billy.

I don't understand the mentality of fighters where one loss to a better fighter means they have too up sticks and move camp.

Yes Ricky had had some sub par performances but in the end he lost to a fighter who was the better fighter regardless of trainer or camp.

He lost twice on the trot and the fight before that was completely outclassed by Gonzalez.

It wasn't a spur of the moment decision based on one defeat.

No but at the same time Burns had found his level so to speak. No trainer or change of scenery is/was going to change that. He'd had a good run as champ, Burns was the epitome of an overachiever.

Solaris how would you know if it was or wasn't a spur of the moment decision?
At the end of the day Ricky felt he needed a change, of coarse I wasn't happy as I felt I done a very good job with him but I also respected his decision, life moves on and if I was given opportunities to train top fighters I know I could train further world champions :good

serious question though. when you did pads with ricky how could you handle yourself, id be on the floor in stitches at that sort of power coming from a proffesional boxer.

Power isn't everything now is it?
I'd rather have a gym of fit, skilled boxers than a banger depending on a big shot,if you held the pads you wouldn't see the punches coming ya wee shitbag lol

Hearn clearly wanted him to join Sims and it's backfired.

Not a good way for Ricky to go out but when you get into bed with vipers then you get bitten.

Look at Carl Froch after he got edged out in 1st Kessler fight, or after getting beat comfortable of Ward he know it was his mistakes, never sacked McCracken (rightly so) and look at the success he has continued to have. If a trainer took me from only being a fringe British Class fighter to a World Champion I wouldn't bin him when they stopped protecting me and put me in with better fighters and I was exposed as a paper champ that I am (was). I would be grateful they helped me earn a good living, setting me up for life when I know I am a limited fighter. Maybe Ricky forgot that he had limited ability and had turned fights with Vasquez and Broner down, and started believing the hype that Billy and that created for his career (made more people believe he was special and pay to watch him), and forget without Billy taking him on he would properly be getting 2k a fight. Even last night he properly earned 60-90k and was a coward (not to strong a word for a guy that was more bothered about not getting hit than putting it on his opponent). Since that jaw was broke he has lost belief and fight, and that's a FACT
