So..... Can he be used as a tool to make Floyd look great? Oh yes he can. He would be perfect for that at this point
Duckweather should fight pac or ggg.........he will always avoid fighting pacman...........he is very afraid of pacman.............even female reporters don't understand why he keeps ducking.............duckweather is a coward........
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you. When is the last time Hopkins fought a swarmer? You say he eats up,slow, come forward fighters, but those aren't necessarily swarmers. The closest he's faced lately to a guy like that is Pascal. In boxing, boxer has the advantage over puncher, puncher over swarmer, and swarmer over boxer. I just think we have a very different opinion on the sport. You don't see the stylistic similarities between Hopkins and Mayweather that I see. You lump guys like Pavlik in the same stylistic category as Maidana. You think Maidana is predictable. And you think Terrence Crawford can compete with Mayweather. Crawford and Mayweather will probably never fight, but I know if they did that I would put my money on Mayweather without hesitation.
I probably did go a little overboard. I won some real and vcash money with Crawford and got a little excited last night. But I still disagree that Bhop and Floyd have similiar styles. Bhop's style is based so much on footwork and controlling distance. That's why he'll always be able to tame slow, podders, even swarmers like Maidana. It's speed that he struggles with sometimes. Floyd's game is basd more on reflexes and speed. A prime Floyd toys with Maidana but he's obviously lost some of his speed and reflexes and that's why Maidana was more effective.
pac, ran away according to freddie shakes. ggg, refuses to go up 1 division for ward, but floyd is the coward? floyd, lacks fundamentals? **** off with this nonsense!!
Crawford, somehow, flew under my radar before tonight but he really won me over with this performance. Even while he was being outclassed during the first few rounds, he still impressed me with his composure and ability to stay relaxed while under fire, which I don't think is a quality all that many fighters exhibit. He also impressed me with his ring generalship and the way he executed his strategy. I also loved hearing the commentary team criticize Crawford's decision to switch lefty, only to be forced to eat their words in the long run. To be fair, Roy DID acknowledge that Crawford must have seen something we didn't. Mayweather's skills however would be a bridge too far,118-110 Floyd
You say Hopkins style is based off of footwork and controlling the distance. Mayweather excels at both of those. You may think controlling the distance just means keeping a guy on the outside. I disagree. I feel it's about keeping the opponent at the proper distance where you can land your shots and prevent the opposition from landing. The Maidana fight was all about Maidana exceeding expectations. However, he struggled to land cleanly after the first few rounds while Mayweathet landed at will. As the rounds went on, you saw Mayweather landing that pull counter, and you also saw Mayweather smother Maidana which caused many of Maidana's shots miss the mark. As far as your assertation that Floyd would've toyed with Maidana in his prime, I'm not so sure about that. Go watch Mayweather vs. Jesus Chavez. Chavez did a job of getting of many shots and had varying degrees of success just like Maidana. Keep in mind that Chavez was a lot smaller compared tho Floyd than was the case with Maidana.
