I could see an argument either way. Despite being much smaller, I think Gamboa was a bigger threat (as long as he lasted) to Crawford than Russell was to Lomachenko. This showed in Crawford-Gamboa being a closer fight; I'll reward that triumph this time around.

    I'll edge it to TKO9.

Edit: Nevermind. After seeing the title is "better performance", give me Lomachenko's. He had the stronger all-around performance, and it was skill driven. Defensively, he was in another class.

loma beat an untested featherfisted good fighter with great speed and defense. no knockdowns, decision.
crawford beat and a beast with power, speed, athleticism, movement and defense. 4 knockdowns, tko victory.

edge = crawford. would love to see crawford vs loma at 132 just to shut up some of u lomos

    Tough to say...

At his prime at FW, obviously I'd pick Gamboa despite his long-obvious weaknesses.

Right now? Two divisions separate them and we've never seen Loma above 126 so I guess I'd pick him to win.

I think Gamboa would win the early rounds but just like against Crawford, he would gas and could easily get put down.

Crawford beat a more proven fighter and stopped him. Gamboa is a bit small for 135 though but it's still a better win (Loma's was a good win as well though).

Gamboa is obviously too small for 135.

He should go back to featherweight.

Gamboa is definitely a better win, on a higher level than GRJr, but Gamboa was too inactive and unproven at 135. GRJr as talented he is wasn't even proven at his NATURAL weight. Gamboa much better win, proven fighter.
