Matthysse had a really tough fight last time out. Not sure where his career trajectory is right now. Personally, I'd love to see him fight Provodnikov.
What article? :huh I was there. Everybody thought Lundy took it. ...and freaking Atlas thinks Algieri vs. Provodnikov was some huge robbery, so...
http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/blog/?p=3897 And for the abril vs presscott I said it could of gone either way by reports I didn't watch I just went on what read and head it was a close fight
Provodnikov beat Algieri, no doubt about it................... Matthysse by murder....................
Yeah, that's why I think now - with the momentum if he beats Garcia on FNF making it a plausible matchup - is the perfect time for Prescott to catch Matthysse a bit softened up and have a better chance than usual to settle the score.
On what basis? Losing wide to Crawford? After last night are we really calling that a major black mark? Not stopping Figueroa? Gato spoiled and was comprehensively outboxed, and Prescott & his trainer had said beforehand they wanted to stretch it and get rounds in to work on some new stuff. :conf
Actually, nah, as it turns out that was a points victory after 1 round, not a KO: ..but yeah, even so, I am guessing that Prescott was talking out his ass there, nothing but tough-talk bravado. If he ate ten clean shots from Matthysse in just a few minutes he knows damn well how hard hitting he is. Hopefully video turns up someday, it probably shows Prescott getting lit the hell up (and, I'm theorizing here - clinching up when hurt, since from the Stat line he didn't seem much into fighting back with his measly one punch connected. The clinching probably caused a butt which caused a cut which caused the stoppage. Pure sluething instinct/guesswork on my part there...) What I really want to see is the rematch. Those guys almost landing blow for blow? Must've been some tear-up.
Well from the poll it looks like Matthysse has won a unanimous decision....oh **** wait CJ Ross is on the judging panel though.
Nope My vote is the only one that matters. :hey People tend to overrate Matthysse to no end on this site. It's clear as day that his best days are behind him, not that he had many of those days to begin with. The dude has one thing, power, oh and the ability to foul again and again to get punches in. His power isn't even that overwhelming to begin with. The dude has a major deficiency in his game, boxing ability. And his chin is cracked now, horribly. FFS John Molina (Someone who was knocked out in 1 round vs DeMarco) went life and death with Matthysse, put him on his ass twice and buzzed him so many times in the fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Prescott knocks him out in 2 rounds.
I **** you not I was about to make a pre-emptive comment about MVC's comment or vote being the only one that matters anywayrison
