The thing is losing to Crawford is one thing, Crawford is world class and has potential to be elite.
But losing to Zlaticanin proves to me he is done at world level and to be honest will struggle against Crolla and Mitchell. Mentally he has gone and his flaws look worst then ever.

leave off fatty an ATG ???

he beat a fella 116-112 who lost to Dejan omboolowoog (thats 8 - 4) incidental Dejan stayed in the country to pick up a labourers job after, Carl Johansen had him on the floor more

He beat a lazy cuban midget last time out and your calling him a All time great ?? he is the best of a ****ing wank division, people are going on about his chin Gamboa could bearly reach his chin .

can see him lining up alongside the greats in the lightweight division.

I felt sorry for you but after rubbish like he is a P4P superstar no wonder he got shot of you.

where do you put Carl Johnason, Alex Arthur and Ray Beltran in your p4p list ?

bellewbellend time will tell mate, Crawford beat an excellent champ in Ricky and prob took the hardest fight out there in Gamboa and dismantled him, don't ever become a trainer mate you will be a very dissappointed boy with such high expectations

I think both Burns and Nelson deserve great credit and respect for what they achieved together over the last 6 or 7 years or so. Getting Ricky World belts at 2 weights and staying at World level for so long was a great achievement.

However, the last 12 months have shown that Ricky just isnt at that level anymore. Mentally he looks fragile and almost scared to get in range incase he takes a big shot to the jaw. This isn't Nelsons fault, it isn't Sims' fault, hell it isn't Rickys fault. When you suffer such a serious injury its going to effect you, and you cannot operate at the top level unless you are 100% both mentally and physically.

*IF* Ricky wants to carry on from here he has no choice but to drop to domestic level. *IF* he is to move up in weight then a fight against Limmond would be a good move, its a fight I think he would win and it gets him a couple of belts and a bit of confidence. Get a defence or 2 under his belt and then look to get one of the Silver / Intercontinental type belts and have a look at moving up the rankings.

Unfortunately another loss now and Rickys career is effectively over.

Have to get FW credit for navigating the world scene so well and managed to ensure Ricky needn't have fought any truly world class LW's.

Gary Jacobs would do a job on the level of comp Burns has faced.Jacobs was very unlucky too be compete in a tough, tough, 90's era full of talent from euro to world level. Jacobs fought P4P n1 Sweet Pea. Gary Done well at times but Pea took control late and hurt him a few times via the body and took the fight by ud. Pea was ahead of RJJ in the p4p rankings at the time.

Its like Burns figting Mayweather. Burns is now a meh fighter. too one dimentional and predictable.

    I WISH HIM WELL THOUGH

Took Crawford the distance, yes! looked poor yes!

Friday night, looked even poorer IMO Burns seems to be gradually going downhill that standing on the ropes really does my head in...It's like he's forgotten everything from the basics.

    Confidence is shot.

I would say the hardest lightweight fight for Crawford would have been Vasquez and not Gamboa. I hope that fight gets made, clearly the best two lightweights in the world. Much better than Figuerola, whom Eddie Hearn said Ricky asked him to get him that route to a title as he is easiest champion (was shocked he volunteered his fighter asked him that personally). Broner/Crawford would be gr8 too, but would properly have to be up a weight as I cant see broner making Ligtweight again.

I agree with most of this, except possibly the bit about Crolla and Mitchell. I think Burns is past his best, but might still have enough left for both. His last opponent was a really hard young man,if a bit lacking in skill. Crawford is definitely a terrific world champion, but Im not sure somebody won't get to him, they usually do.
Interesting to see a few comparisons with Jim Watt. Id say Jim was by a fair way the better than Ricky. Whether he was better than Crawford remains to be seen. Thats not to say I don't respect Ricky. A fighting champion with the heart of a lion, and a complete credit.

Not really it's the norm for lightweights that will eventually end up at 147, was gamboa fight night weight insane?

Tell me what bit is not the truth Billy? Is it the bit about Crawford/Vasquez being the best 2 lightweights in the world, or the bit about Eddie Hearn saying Ricky asked to send him down the route of the easiest champion? As the first part is my opinion, am sure a lot of people would agree there the two best lightweights at the moment, the other is a FACT, that was said by Eddie Hearn at his original press conference at Glasgow Marriott for Zlaticann fight. Heard it from horses mouth to everyone in room
