Because destroyed him, exposed his weak chin and Wlad is a very smart guy .. it would be years before he mastered the safety first style he later adopted which allow him to defeat lesser opposition ... by that time Sanders was long out of the picture ...

I think it is as simple as Sanders having ceased to be a factor by the time Wlad was ready.

I agree with this analysis. But, to paraphrase it more succinctly: Because Wlad is a coward who feared he would get knocked out again by a 37 year old retired, overweight former contender.

Pretty much. That and after Sanders lost to Vitali, he pretty much lost interest in fighting Wlad or any top heavyweight again.

No need for a rematch, it was a blow out easy win for Sanders!

Rematches only really needed when it's a very close fight, or controversial, and this fight wasn't either one..

Sanders was never really serious about boxing anyways, just look at his beer belly, poor conditioning, and he waited 13 months after he KOD, Wlad before he fought again, pretty stupid thing to do at 38...

By that logic, Lewis should have never rematched McCall or Rahman.

His managment wanted to match him with a no name bottom feeder. It made no sense whatsoever to put him back in with Sanders.
The better brother was called in to do business.

Real champs take the rematch. Wlad also ran from a rematch against Williamson.

Because Wlad gets his older brother to handle fighters that are too much for him

In other words Wlad was not good enough for Sanders at the time, yeah?

I think there was talk of a re-match when Universum signed Sanders after his loss to Vitali.

If there was a rematch, Wlad likely wins. Wlad underestimated Sanders. The story goes 10 heavyweights declined the match. Sanders took the fight on short notice. At the time Wlad wasn't aware of his weaknesses or how to minimize them. and was caught early by the swift punching south paw.

Lennox Lewis would not agree with what you wrote as he was Ko'd twice early. Neither would Joe Louis who wasn't in a close match when he lost to Schmeling.

Wlad has offered re-matches before to Brewster to avenge a loss, some guy he defeated via DQ, Sam Peter, who gave him a tough fight in their first match, and Byrd.

Typical. Give Sanders no credit at all. Wlad never underestimates anybody.

Lewis told Sanders how Wlad could be beat and because Wlad is so limited and one one dimensional he was able to do the job easily and in one round.

Wlad had a rematch clause. He fought Moli instead. A bum suited to Wlads level.

Why did Wlad rematch Evert Martin who had more loses than wins but not Varyl Wiliamson? TOS was going to stop Wlad. Why didn't Wlad correct that wrong. Why was he happy to call Brewster out of a long injury reduced retirement to bear hug him to death in Germany with out any warning and claim he avenged a defeat?
