Farenas must be tired or just pulling his punches, Davis is doing nothing this round and still seems buzzed from the previous round's onslaught.

    Round 6

Farenas is pushing out with his forearms, making Davis' jabs and 1-2s ricochet away harmlessly, then hooking up close. Davis works uppercuts on the body to pry Farenas off. Arms tangle. Smoger asks for a move off. Right hand by Davis. BIG looping left by Farenas. Another while Davis is plunging down low with his knees bent deeply. Davis circles away, caught again with the left but taking it well. Davis bobs across the ring and finally hugs Farenas when he runs out of room. Long clinch. Farenas is held tight until Smoger intervenes. Double jab and high whistling left by Farenas, missing. Davis counters with a right across Farenas' temple, hanging back.

    10-9 Farenas

    59-55 Farenas

This fight is up for grabs for Farenas if he keeps throwing, Davis has nothing and is on the verge of being stopped.

The ringside doctor is threatening Davis with a stoppage if he keeps taking flush shots.

    Round 7

Farenas is hammering in with the left hand with maximum torque but struggling to find some accuracy with it. Davis is now in full defensive mode, throwing long pot shots from outside and finally using his feet to explore the ring. Farenas lunges and misses with a right jab. Davis catches him in a neck-lock in the crook of his left arm while spinning away from the ropes. Farenas slaps up with a right and then left hook, missing. Davis is throwing pot shot jabs and 1-2-3s while circling away.

10-9 Davis, just barely doing enough to nick it with his minimalist boxing. Farenas' pressure was terribly ineffective, basically didn't land a thing so you have to credit the guy who did get in a few light pot shots.

    68-65 Farenas

    Round 8

Farenas is hitting Davis with the left, just making slight contact as Davis keeps hiking in search of higher ground. Jab and uppercut combos by Davis, still barking, quieter now, conserving energy to move. Farenas is dispensing with the jab mostly, flicking it up backhanded to feel out Davis' location and then ripping in hard looping lefts. Davis is caught and rocked into a corner. Another 1-2 by Farenas charging in. Smoger gets in between them.

    TKO8!!
