No. His defense, sense of range, intelligence improved tremendously. Wlad would not get hit by Sanders because he wouldn't take risks. The Wlad under Steward would potshot sanders from the outside, tie him up if Sanders gets in close and wear sanders down. Sanders would get tired after 4 or 5 rounds, and he his guard would drop, allowing Wlad to land the knockout punch.

    Co sign.

Rematch WK would box from range, would not go tit for tat like in the first outing and either win a loopsided decision or stop Sanders late.

One thing for sure, Sanders would never have the same motivation as in the first fight, similar to Douglas, very talented but ultimately very limited one hit wonders.

Incorrect as ever so often, Dino.

    Here's how it went down:

For his title shot against Wlad (WBO title), Sanders signed options with Universum management (Wlad's then promoter). Immediately after winning against Wlad, Sanders declared the contract invalid and declared he is an independent agent. Shortly after, he dropped the WBO belt after the WBC agreed to declare him a mandatory challenger to the then vacant WBC belt (after Lewis vacated it). Sanders then signed a promotional contract with Adrian Ogun and Lennox Lewis.

Universum sued Sanders in Germany and a lengthy court battle ensued about Sanders legal status as a fighter, freezing him in court and keeping him out of the ring for years.

So when you say "Vitali was sent to take care of Sanders" you have the facts the wrong way around. Sanders fled Universum's slave contract and Sanders himself chose to fight Vitali (who then was the WBC #1 ranked contender).

He dropped the WBO belt becasue he had to fight -unknown at the time -Brewster in a mando defense.

Sanders was in talks for a big money fight with Vitali. Who was Vitali with? Universum. How could Sanders flee Universum and do business with them at the same time?
Sanders was in negotiation with Universum to fight Vitali while Wlad was beig matched with push-overs.

Lewis went straight back in with Rahman and knocked him for 6. Rahman only needed one go to KO Sanders. That was in Lewis 39th fight. Wlad was in his 41st fight.

Wlad needed two tune-ups for a part time boxer , full time golfer. And people say this guy can rank as high as top 5 greatest HW of all time??

I don't think a rematch would have been that different really.

I think he tried to get it and couldn't. Not sure about that one though. By the time he was re-established Sanders was done.
