Whats the thoughts of people on here as to rickys next move ......

Personally i think he has to stay at Lightweight all be it he needs to perhaps look at the way he does the weight, Light Welter has to many guys that can bang of which Ricky isn't heavy handed

A domestic level charge to see whats in the tank then take it from there is my preference, Mathews or Coyle should gauge whats in the tank imo,

Trainer wise im not stuck on Simms and not sure if Ricky should stick with him or not as personally i thought he worked well with Billy and there achievements spoke volumes

Interested on what the rest of you think in relation to the above points

I would go back to Billy, go back to basics and start listening to the big man.

The Scottish public calling for him to fight Limond or Harrison. They are so easily pleased haha terrible fights which ricky wins easily.

If he fights Derry then he's fallen far too much and should chuck it.

He should wait for the Crolla fight after Ant has a go and loses (sorry Macky) at a title shot.

you're entitled to your opinion pal :good

Crolla Burns would be a cracking fight. Crolla beats the Burns of Friday night comfortably though IMO.

The problem is about making the crolla fight atm is Rickys stock has fallen and Crollas has risen and now Crolla is above him in the pecking order mate

Would Billy Nelson have Ricky back if that was the route he wanted to go?

I kind of agree with you, Billy defo doesn't hold a grudge with Ricky but deep down he must be slightly disappointed that Ricky allowed Alex Morrison and Eddie Hearn speak about Billy in the way they did. Billy put so much time and effort into Ricky getting him to the heights that nobody after the Johanneson and Alex Arthur fights would have thought possible.

Imo Ricky could only go back if he was to once again put all of his faith in Billy and stop the back chatting in the corner and in the gym (not seen it in the gym personally but I just think that is the case). If he could do that and listen to what Billy has to say then they could get back their winning formula!!

Even if he was to return to Billy there is never a guarantee that it would work again or if they could scale the heights they managed first time but whatever Ricky decides to do next I wish him all the best.

I would go with an easy Crolla fight to get back into the swing of things

I don't think it's as simple as go back to Billy Nelson, Burns is showing that he isn't prepared to listen fully whether it be BN or Sims.

Id say feed Derry mathews to him, muller him for 12 rounds to get abit of confidence back.

Next time derry gets beat its La Decima (the 10th)
