    Cant remember not being a boxing fan,grew up hearing stories from my dad about Ali,first proper memory of boxing was the Holyfield/Bowe rematch,got really into boxing when my family got Sky sports the week of the De La Hoya/Tito fight and ive been hooked ever since,I train Kickboxing so I realise how hard a sport it is which makes me an even bigger fan..

    Honestly ?

    Jermain Taylor vs Bernard Hopkins 1 .

    My mothers man at the time was explaining to me how great Bernard was and told me about his legendary 20 title defenses .

    And he said Jermain Taylor is fast and young dude who going to give B hop problems when they fight .

    I saw that fight , witness the shocking result and I fell in love with boxing ever since .

    After that I started going way back into the history and fell in love with George Foreman who is my all time fav fighter .

    Seeing the showmanship and knockouts of Naseem Hamed when I was about 9 or 10 is the first thing that really made me a fan of boxing.

    My Dad was a huge fight fan and watched all the fights on tv.He took me to the Gardens as a 10 year old here in NYC and I have been hooked ever since.
    Fond memories of Dad and I catching most of the fights at MSG and Sunnyside Gardens as a kid.
    Now as an adult I carry on the tradition and very seldom miss an event at MSG or the Theatre.
    I will make an exception for the fight here on Aug9th at Barclay's in Brooklyn.I refuse to be ripped off by GBP and Showtime.

    My dad taught boxing in the Canadian Army. I would watch fights with him as a kid and he would explain the basic tactics being utilized by both fighters. I got really hooked on boxing watching Sugar Ray Leonard's fights on free network television. I paid to see Leonard Duran 1 and thought it was a great back and forth battle that left me on a high for days. I knew then I was a fan for life. No other sport comes close to the raw excitement that two well matched boxers bring to the fans.

    The Inspiration, the fortitude, the willingness to not give up, and getting knocked down and getting back up.

    Its alot like life, you go through defeats, challenges, but in the end its on you and up to you if you have the will to get through it to overcome, boxing is more like life than any other sport.

    I learn alot from the "Boxer state of mind" and have applied it to my professional and personal life and it has paid in dividends.


    So I am fan because I admire what these men do, but more so their thought process....its amazing.
