Yes he went down in ratings because he got robbed vs Alvarez...

He should be at least 30 with his skill set...

He is a very good fighter.

He has the talent to be a top 5 fighter at 135....... I think he would give Crawford a run for his money.

If you ever watch him fight, the man has great boxing ability, great reflexes and great defense.....

    :deal

    Go watch him fight.

I think Garcia will have a tough fight come Aug 9th,

I'd be the best damn promoter in the business. :deal

Anyways, it really isn't a good fight but like I said before, it's a tune up.

I'm just saying Roddy isn't as bad as most like to think.

They probably haven't watched Rod Salka.

Soft fights are definitely normal and needed for fighters to stay-active and not have to go through extremely tough training camps. What a lot of newbies don't understand is that these training camps take a lot out of a fighter and makes them susceptible to injuries(I believe Martinez is a very good recent example).

As far as Garcia is concerned, his last fight wasn't a soft fight as was proven in the ring. Just because Herrera didn't have promoters that hyped him and hyped his ability doesn't make him a "soft" fight. Herrera had a win over Provodnikov that not many knew about due to his lack of proper promotion. People tend to rate fighters based on popularity rather than actual ability. Not to forget that Garcia was also coming off two extremely tough fights against Judah and Matthysse. The Matthysse fight was extremely brutal and Garcia admitted he was left pissing blood after that fight and couldn't see properly. A soft fight for Garcia after three tough ones should be understandable if softies on here try to judge fairly with their heads rather than their hearts/emotions.

The last time I saw Teddy Atlas slam both an opponent and Showtime for airing such a huge mismatch was before Kevin McBride fought Mike Tyson. Atlas couldn't stop insulting McBride and the network and everyone else invovled in such a horrible travesty.

Then McBride stopped Tyson. And Teddy had to go on the air and apologize in person to McBride. Then he predicted big things for McBride, and that was way off, too.

I didn't have an opinion one way or another when Garcia's opponent was announced.

Now, after Teddy's rant, I'm going to tune in just to see the upset of the year.

    Teddy's a jinx.

Danny Crispy Garcia has nowhere else to go. Pacquiao/Mayweather/Porter/Thurman/Maidana are all boogeyman at 147, then at 135-140, you have rematch with Lucas and Sweet Pea Crawford.

    Boogeyman north and current/south.

    He'll beat a lot of men @ 147.

    He always surprises, always wins.

The man wins, that's all he does.

Garcia should fight Peterson in a unification fight.
