I just saw thread. If Hopkins asks this fight, it is chance for Kovalev. He should forget about Adonis. I believe Kovalev didn't want to fight old man. However it is Hopkins who is asking

You're damned right its a chance for KOVALEV.

I don't wanna see him kill another man but if Roidnard wants it I'm certain Kathy Duva and Team Kovalev would gladly sign the non disclosure agreement allowing Roidnard his roids.

    Where does this leave Stevenson?

So interesting to see where the loyalties lie in this Golden Boy split. Hopkins will be loyal to whomever pays him the most.

Funny that Showtime wouldn't even put on Hopkins vs. Kovalev. I'll bet HBO would be thrilled to have this fight.

Wonder if Showtime will get its money's worth when they get to air Stevenson/Cloud or Stevenson/some scrub Al Haymon finds in a junkyard.

Remember your boy Lucien Bute. Watch Hopkins torpedo Kovalev's battleship.

I got Kovalev on this one. Benard is too old to hang with someone like that. Unless he can show up extremely sharp and use subtle movement to confuse him, that'd be epic.

I have a feeling Bernard's just talking again. If he fights Kovalev it's because he wants to retire.

Isn't Hopkins dead yet? I thought he was 80 years old already. He's been fighting forever.

He sometimes says stuff I wonder if he really means like when he suggested facing Haye at heavyweight. So maybe Hops is just saying stuff to keep his name relevant or to get leverage with Stevenson. Could be a lot of things. But most likely I think he's probably open to the idea which tells me he likes something he sees in Kovalev that he thinks he can exploit. The old man knows his own limitations better than anyone.

A 51 year old who's unifying a division isn't someone that knows fear to be honest and Kovalev, who's yet to be proven, sure as hell won't be the one to scare Hopkins away. As far as Haye is concerned, call me delusional, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins really meant it had he been offered a fight by Haye. Back then Haye had all the attention on him in the Heavyweight division and also had a world title.
