    Yeah, I don't either.

I don't buy the Ring all that often these days, a few times a year maybe.

However, in the July 2012 edition Pacquiao is number 1, Mayweather is number 2 and Marquez is number 6.

At this time Pacquiao and Mayweather were at welter but Marquez was still a lightweight.

Anyone know who Mayweather beat to get the number 2 spot during this time?

Doesnt matter Floyd and Manny fight in a weak era so p4p doesnt mean anything

being the best of the worst isn't anything to brag about

Hopkins and Jones are far greater

That doesn't make much sense. Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, Ray Robinson, Roberto Duran, Muhammad Ali, and Julio Cesar Chavez all had long careers at the top of the sport, which probably lasted at least as long. Though Louis, Robinson, and Ali all had brief interruptions or retirements. Also, you might chalk some fighter's longevity up to inactivity. For example, I think the number of title defenses of a belt says more about the domination of a champ then how long he holds it. Just who did these guys beat while on the pound for pound list?

I think. Bhop was dropped off the list after his loss to Taylor not 100% sure of that

Well Mayweather beat Marquez back in 2009, so that probably got him back in the P4P ratings, but I'm pretty sure that Marquez was never rated as high as P4P number 2.

Mayweather's nearest fight to July 2012 is Ortiz. Hardly the stuff of P4P greatness and not worthy of earning the number 2 slot.

Mayweather didn't beat anyone to earn his P4P status. He didn't earn his number 2 spot and he certainly didn't earn the number 1 spot.

Respect. Pacquiao beat guys Floyd never had the guts to get in the ring with and he destroyed them, climbing weight classes.

Floyd has been #1 P4P since he came back. Pac was only #1 when Floyd left.

    No he has not.

When Mayweather came back he fought Hatton and Marquez and was somehow gifted the number 2 slot, as mentioned he did not earn it through those victories. Pacquiao was P4P number 1 at this time.

Mayweather only became number 1 P4P after Pacquiao lost to Bradley and Marquez.

However Mayweather did not beat any P4P rated fighter to earn that number 1 spot.

Therefor the only conclusion we can draw is that Mayweather was gifted the number 1 spot only because Pacquiao lost, not because Mayweather beat anyone worthwhile.

Stop being an idiot. He fought Hatton BEFORE he left, came back and #1 P4P at the ring after he beat Mosley.
