Because you said that Arum isn't willing to make fights with other promotions which is proven false. If you don't like the old examples I gave you a brand new one, Algieri vs Provodnikov.

Alvarez never offered the 152 Catchweight when he clearly proved immediately after the Mayweather fight that he can't make 154 anymore. That nonsense started by Ellerbe from the "All Access" series was immediately proven false.

As a known hater of Concreto I never considered him anything worth mentioning especially after he was proven a cheater. However, he still had enough advantages when he fought Pacquiao and you can't overlook them. As far as Clottey is concerned, yes he was competition back then due to his fight with Cotto.

    Random thoughts.

Canelo did not offer catchweight on his own, not sure how that myth got perpetrated. Either way its not true.

There is no excuse for PAC fighting Rios on PPV. Since he was coming off devastating KO, taking the fight is understandable.... but putting it on PPV was garbage. Bradley was a legit fight though.

Clottey is actually a good fighter. He gets crapped on a lot, I think unfairly.

Catchweights are garbage, if one guy ends up drained it typically makes for a lopsided non-entertaining fight. Some people seem to keep justifying them by citing precedent, as if that somehow makes it a better fight when it does happen.

Mayweather is scheduled to fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Alvarez approached Oscar De La Hoya, President of Golden Boy Promotions, and requested a fight with Mayweather "It's what I want, the Mayweather fight. That's what we put on the table. I feel more mature and for that I am willing to go down to 150 pounds" said Canelo to Sal Rodriguez. "De la Hoya said he was going to pursue the Mayweather fight [for me]. We are ready for it. It's what people want, for me to fight someone like [Mayweather]"

    via scene.

I cant like the article because they dont allow scene **** here.

For the same reason Dawson did against Ward. The situations are completely parallel; if you think Dawson voluntarily drained to a weight he never made in years, you have to conclude Canelo did as well. Personally I think it's clear Floyd was playing BS politics, but people like to give Ward a pass for the exact same thing for some reason.
