But one of the demands only applies to one fighter and the other is a demand placed upon them both. Incredible to think that there are so many Olympic athletes who can deal with this horrible life-altering disruption in their lives.
Manny said he felt weakened against Morales in 2005. Go and have a look. You're acting as though Manny refused to be tested. When he didn't. He just didn't want to be tested close to the fight. Which was his prerogative. He agreed to be tested, at any point during 7-8 weeks, that included immediate after fight tests. That should have been sufficient. The reason he's open to testing now, is because the whole boxing landscape has changed since 2009. It's now common for all fighters, promoters and trainers to request testing as part of the contract, especially as guys like Peterson etc have been caught out. You cannot compare circumstances from 2009 to the present day. Back when Floyd made his demands, nobody else had an issue with fighting Manny. Floyd himself had no issue with testing future opponents before he negotiated with Manny. Why wasn't Floyd interested in cleaning up the sport in his first thirteen years as a pro?
Don't you find it odd that many PEDs leave the bloodstream in 3 weeks or less? You can't compare 2009 to 2013? :rofl I think I've had enough of this kind of foolishness for one day.
I've just explained that the whole landscape has changed over the last four to five years. It's now common to for guys to be tested. Back in 2009, it wasn't. Now if Manny is open to any form of testing, why isn't Floyd persuing him, it what would still be a huge fight? If he thinks Manny is washed up, and there's no testing issues, why isn't he chasing a huge pay day instead of fighting the likes of Maidana? There is no reason not to believe that Manny feels weakened by giving blood. I personally know tough guys, who are terrified of needles and going to the dentist for a check up etc. Manny offering himself to be tested, does not mean he was lying in 2005. Also, his tattoos are done in his private life. They're also personal to him. Having tattoos, again doesn't mean that he was lying in 2005, and it isn't the same as having a camp disrupted with so much at stake.
They're not like for like demands. There's many athletes that submit to drug testing. But the circumstances are different. Manny wasn't asked to partake in submitting a test, along with many other fighters. He name was tarnished, and he was backed into a corner by Floyd. If a commission requests a test, then the athlete has to comply if that's the protocol. But again, why should Manny have agreed to all of Floyd's demands, when he didn't have to? Because Floyd is not bigger than boxing, he's only a fighter like Manny is.
We can spin it around can't we? 10 mill for every pound Floyd was over 147 Testing stops at 24 days out, with an after fight test. Floyd walked away.
if you can't accept things change over time, you're condemned to foolishness for life. pac changed his tune over testing, the same as floyd.
Do you think if Floyd seriously thought that Manny was dirty, that he would have offered ANY cut off days? Many PEDS leave the bloodstream in three weeks or less? So Manny was going to take PEDS in his cut off window, and also submit to an after fight test? So although there's never been a shred of evidence, Manny was going to use PEDS for less than three weeks out of ten to gain an advantage? You seriously think that was likely? Yes, you can't compare the landscape from 2009 to the present day. Once again, Floyd before negotiations with Manny had no testing issues. Neither did any of Manny's other opponents. It was uncommon for any fighter, trainer, manager or promoter to include testing clauses in the contracts. But after the Manny and Floyd debacle, it's rare that testing isn't implemented. Why is that difficult for you to grasp?
Haven't you already admitted that Pac was tested in a 2005 fight? So 2013 and 2005 are comparable, but 2009 and 2013 aren't? That sounds logical. Testosterone undecanoate - used by Lance Armstrong - leaves the bloodstream in under a week. Two weeks of use to build muscle mass and increase stamina would be more than possible. That's exactly what lance Armstrong used to do. Clenbuterol leaves the system in 4 days. I'm not saying that's a likely scenario, just pointing out that a 24 day cut off is as much use as no drug testing at all.
The circumstances were different in 2005 against Morales. Look into it. He gave blood, but apparently the samples were somehow lost, and he had to submit some more, close to the fight. I understand the theoretics behind what you're saying with regards to Lance. That's a good point that you've made. However, if that was the case, why did Floyd offer a 14 day window? It seems highly unlikely that Manny would have gone to the lengths that Lance did, for less than three weeks out of ten, when there's never been any form of evidence to imply that he's dirty. I just don't buy it, and I can assure you that I'm not even a fan of Manny's. You can check my post history if you wish. I've got to go out now. So we'll agree to disagree. But thanks for debating without any insults etc. Have a good weekend. :good
