larry holmes got hurt and was with his ass in the floor by lesser fighters and punchers than foreman, george would have been by far the best finisher that holmes faced in his prime career, plus he had sturdy chin, a killer right hand (the weak point of holmes), h2h larry had a style to give problems to george and vice versa, it is a 50/ 50 fight h2h, in legacy george is greater, no question about

 not just he would have lasted 1 round but he he would have a great chance to knock tyson out, because stylistically it was all in favour of foreman, even if he was older, if foreman have lost he woul dhave lasted the distance for sure, you got zero credibility after you posted this crap

How do you figure legacy wise ? Holmes held the title over seven years and defended twenty times .. opposition wise other than a dangerous but past his best Frazier who was also a perfect style match up for George and Norton who was as well Foreman's first career was not exceptionally distinguished .. he clearly did not do well against top fighters w strong chins and boxing skills .. I like George and find the man who defeated Frazier i=the first time to be a dangerous man against certain styles but a all time great boxer like Holmes is a bad match up .. all this talk about Holmes and the right hand is also very over rated .. in his prime he gets dropped twice in sloppy moments in fights he was dominating, got up both times and did not lose a second of the rest of either bout which he went on to win by stoppages .. maybe a prime Tyson or Louis had the speed and skill to capitalize on this but to me the list is very, very short ...

no, it is not overrated, it is an absolute fact, holmes sucked vs big right hands, he could be hurt and down in his prime. THE OVERRATED THEORY IS THE ONE " BOXERS WHO COULD MOVE WERE THE KRYPTONITE OF FOREMAN" it is a complete joke, ali never did beat foreman outboxing him, ali had the chin ,stamina, mental strength, skill, and every tool to beat foreman in the hot of zaire (MUHAMMAD NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM TAKING BIG RIGHT HANDS , HE HAD PROBLEMS WITH LEFT HOOKS, LARRY WAS THE ONE WHO GOT HURT AND WAS DOWN SEVERAL TIMES BY RIGHT HANDS, EVEN ZOMBIE ALI 77 TOOK MUCH BETTER A RIGHT HAND FROM SHAVERS THAN A PEAK HOLMES), ali was doing the tactic rope dope and counter punching foreman, avoiding the big shots (he took some ) , larry holmes is not dancing around foreman and avoiding him during all the fight, and he was not in the level of 74 ali in these departments, a big difference was that ali was smarter than holmes, larry usually got mad and he traded with punchers, ali never did it. jimmy young never traded with punchers neither like holmes did, young was much mor eelusive, he was much harder to hit clean, and still he got hurt a few times by george, and he was not facing the best version of foreman, larry has as much problems vs punchers (with big right hand) than foreman had vs boxers(i would say that holmes had more problems even id he won these fights), ali and jimmy young were big names, reinaldo snipes for example was nothing but a bum(at best average fighter)

Ok, foreman.. FOREMAN WON THE OLIMPIC GOLD MEDAL, LARRY NEVER DID ,A guy who destroyed a 29 years old undefeated joe frazier( some stupid guys are trying to insinuate that frazier was in bad shape or he was shot etc it is a total bull**** ... Foreman would have destroyed every version of frazier as easily), ken norton in his absolute peak did beat ali twice and foreman destroyed him like a rag doll in 2 rounds and he was flying on the ring( I T IS NOT JUST THE FACT OF FOREMAN BEATING THEM BUT IN THE FASHION THAT HE DID IT), foreman faced guys like ron lyle (lyle was a nightmare for holmes stylistically and he gave to the peanut hard sparring sessions so holmes wanted no part of lyle in a real fight), foreman knocked lyle out, foreman stopped george chuvalo(far a bigger name than bums like occasio, lorenzo zanon, alfredo evangelista etc). Foreman faced jimmy young and larry holmes never did. Foreman destroyed gerry cooney in 2 rounds, foreman did return to the boxing after being 10 years retired, and then he won the title by knock out (yes blablabla michael moorer was winning on points blsablabla, foreman won by ko, period and he was in his 40s.
Larry holmes defended his title long time because he diD not have a 74 muhammad ali in his way, he did not have joe frazieR in his way(the same frazier who broken 2 ribs to larry in sparring sessions when frazier was past his prime and larry left the ring like a *****), he fought a war vs a welL past prime norton, i am sure that a peak 74 norton would have won the fight. Can you imagine foreman having any problem defending his title vs these guys ? Ossie occasio, lorenzo zanon, trevor berbick, alfredo evangelista, marvis frazier, leroy jones, scott ledoux(foreman kicked his ass in 3), earnie shavers, mike weaver, gerry cooney(foreman killed him in 2), reinaldo snipes, tex coob, james smith, scott frank, david bey? The only guy who would havee been a decent oponent would have been tim witherspoon (the same witherspoon who gave the hell to larry and many people could think that tim actually won the fight, and holmes wanted no part of the rematch), larry holmes haD more defences because he faced crappy oposition in his prime.. Simple like that..

    - The spinks rematch wasn't a comeback fight, as Holmes hadn't retired

    - The Tyson fight was supposed to be a last hurrah but not the start of a second career.

    - Holmes was 38 when he fought Tyson and Foreman was 39 at the start of his comeback

Larry, by a notch, though if you are taking it total careers counted, George might take this.
