Was Maidana a cherry pick or underestimated?

    I think he was underestimated.

I won't say Mayweather made it fan friendly, but I won't say he didn't either. Mayweather stood in the pocket like he's been doing lately, that makes it a little more fan friendly. But Maidana's unorthodox punching just made it difficult to counter.

People also overlook Maidana's improvements under Garcia and conditioning under Ariza (although he won't be in his corner on September 13th). They cling to his losses against Khan @ 140 and Alexander when he moved up to 147 for the 1st time. They tend to forget about his win/KO streak at 147.

What are your thoughts? And please break down your answer!

People also tend to let expectations affect what really happened.

Isn't underestimating and still going for this fight, a cherry pick? Anyway, Maidana showed how to beat that guy and unfortunately he was robbed. He will knock Mayweather out in the rematch.

I honestly think that he was underestimated, and overachieved.

Floyd was on record saying that he'd been fighting at WW longer than Chino and he figured he'd be the naturally bigger guy on fight night.

Chino then came into the ring and 165, and I think that Floyd was expecting Chino to Gas a bit faster.

Gotta give Maidana credit though, he didn't give into the mind games, and just went out there and did his thing. I don't wanna take anything from Maidana. It's the fight game. If you decide not to show up (as Floyd maybe did) that's on him. After the fight was over I said that "Floyd wanted to make in entertaining" which could have been the case. And there were a lot of people who said that was the case. (Mosley, Guerrero, Ruben Guerrero, Canelo ) but the fact is, we can only go by what we see. And I saw him make Floyd uncomfortable.

Chino looks good at 147. Strong. Floyd is going to have his hands full again on September 13th. We'll see though.

I didn't mean Floyd underestimated him, I meant did WE underestimate him. I did.

It could have been an easier night. Guerrero beats Maidana IMO and Floyd completely washed out Ghost... yet struggled with Chino.

Props to Maidana for coming out and doing his thing but Floyds gameplan made it closer than needed.

No way Ghost beats Chino. Not a chance.

I think Maidana beat Guerrero too, but I think it'd be a close fight.

Chino is safe bet for Money, he doesn't have enough power, speed and stamina. We want to see Floyd fighting Bradley or Pac.

Clearly underestimated as the fight itself proves.

Chino vs. The Chin, I think Guerrero would outwork Maidana as well.

Bradley has enough power?, I'd rather see Mayweather-Maidana II than Bradley.

This. Floyd knew that once he beat Broner people would be interested in the fight for the sake of it. I also think Floyd saw who has beaten Maidana and thought to himself "Well I'm better than all those guys, easy money"
