Earnie made it known that the right uppercut was his favorite punch to throw if he could find an opening (ala Ellis) and against Ramos, Daniels, Foreman and Quarry Joe showed that early on he could be caught clean with one. There would be no suspense with this one, Earnie would know he had to land big on Joe fast to have a chance. Would he do it?
Sure, Earnie might catch him hard. But Joe is likely to win this with his superior stamina and durability.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. Earnie definitely showed chin and cardio weakness in his career. I just have a gut feeling that Earnie would come in shape vs Frazier and would spark him out early. Frazier was a slow starter and I see the opportunity for Earnie to land his titanic blows on Frazier's chin. It really also depends on when the fight happens. If it takes place 1968-71 then I would heavily favor Frazier. If it is 1975 or later I would give a huge edge to Earnie.

Yeah, it doesnt matter who you put in with him there is always the "Earnie factor", regardless of who is on your personal Mt. Rushmore if he hits them right you have a new champion. I also think Joe was vulnersble by 75, especially if the other guy wasn't Ali. Damn that guy was fun to watch.

Let's not forget that Quarry dismantled Shavers in one round. Let's also not forget Frazier dismantled Quarry, TWICE.
SHavers has a punchers chance. That's it. Frazier at his prime was so superior. Another level. Leading with more accurate power shots, Doubling up the way he did was just far too sharp for Ernie to cope with. Ernie, always dangerous and brave always needed four chances to land one time at that level. Loading up like he had do exposed himself to what was coming the other way. I just think its a level too far for Ernie. He gets smashed to bits by Frazier.
jesus you are a ****ing horrible poster, frazier would destroy shavers, quarry stopped him very early, shavers could land and hurt anyone but he had this posibility vs anyone, not just against frazier. joe was the much better fighter, he had much better defence, timing, chin, and he was a puncher himself, he would ice shavers, it would be a full pack vs just a big punch
