It doesn't matter, prime Jones at 168 would have fought at LHW back then.

Moorer was really flat footed though, Jones had quick feet and handspeed

I think against Spinks we would have seen quite the body attack by Roy, there is always a chance of a well placed liver shot putting Spinks down.

The only guy who ever put Spinks down, period, was Tyson.

    Roy Jones aint Mike Tyson

You think Spinks would have been knocked out Tarver and Johnson?

Jones fought much better opposition at LHW than Moorer.

Moorer's 175 lb. opposition makes Mosley's at 135 look legendary.

    Levels of opposition at LHW:

    Spinks

    Jones

    Moorer

Roy's peak was 168, but he'd probably have been fighting at 175 at that time if they had same day weigh-ins.

So it's fair to match him up with prior light-heavyweights in a "peak" matchup.

Turn of the century Jones was pretty much in his peak.

The guy who destroyed Gonzalez, Johnson and Woods.

I am talking about a crazy shot like the one he landed on Virgil Hill could possibly end a fight for Spinks.. How many times had Hill been down from a body shot?? Not saying it would happen, but it is possible. The argument that just because a fighter has never been down doesn't make a lot of sense to me... There is a first time for everything.

I can guarentee you with Spinks' long torso and heigth advantage, Jones would have been targeting his body.

We didn't get a chance to see how Spinks looked after cutting muscle back down from HW to LHW, so the comparission of getting sparked by Tarver and Johnson isn't a fair one.
