I like how people are suddenly pretending little Cotto is a behemoth middleweight when he doesn't even walk around at the MW limit. Cotto is not a middleweight. He swooped down like a keen vulture and beat a guy with destroyed knees who fell over every time their forearms collided. He would still be at 147 he didn't get beat out of it.
Bradley had 2 quite competitive fights against Pac, Cotto got destroyed by Pac. I see Tim outboxing Miguel.
It's a good fight. Both guys are around the same natural size. 5'6 vs 5'7. Bradley fought at 152 in amateurs, debuted pro at 140, same weight as Cotto. Both are B+/A- level fighters. Good enough to beat all the B-C level guys and even some A- guys, just comes up short against the elites.
C'mon bro, one of the first things you learn as a boxing fan is that triangle theories don't always work, styles make fights. Besides the Pac of the Cotto fight would've made much easier work of Timbo than he eventually did. Tim hasn't looked all that great at welter, a jump up to "middleweight" against a rejuvenated Cotto would be a terrible idea.
Mosley was already shot IMO, he wasn't half the boxer that he was, case in point look at his fights with Floyd, Pac, and Mora. By that point all Mosley had was a big punch, so a guy like Margo who stood in front of him got it, and Floyd who got caught with a big one had a lil scare, other than that, he was shot. Bradley at this stage of his career would outbox Mosley at that stage of his career.
That shot Mosley beat the **** out of Margarito 2 fights later. Bradley has a better jab than Mosley and better stamina and footspeed at that point, but that's it. Plus that fight took place at 147 where it was an even playing field. Cotto has won titles at 154 and 160. **** even Floyd had a little trouble outboxing Cotto. Bradley is the same guy that got knocked out on his feet vs Ruslan Provodnikov. Cotto is, bigger, stronger, and more skilled than Ruslan and will have the same trainer. Oh and Bradley is in my top 5 favorite fighters
this is all your fault Martinez, cashing your washed-up ass out and leaving us with this mess. cotto/bradley isn't a bad fight at 147 but an utter joke of a middleweight championship, if that's what they have in mind.
