Lara is gonna be the MAN at 160 when GGG moves up!!!!

His frame is such that he can still be the defensive master he is at 154 if he puts on those 6 lbs for MW.

He's soooo strong and his shots are massive when he gets that L hand going.

His chin is his only liability, and I don't see anyone between 154-160 being able to reach it....his reach is massive, and his footwork rivals Mayweathers at 140.:think

 

160 might be a bridge too far for Lara. GGG would overpower him and knock him out if he stays at 160. He might do well with Cotto, though.


It all depends how he does this saturday.

Lara already called out GGG, but GGG was home washing his communist issued stockings.

 

I didn't hear anything about sending an offer.

 

To be fair both guys fight on different TV networks.

K2 was in talks with Kirkland after his impressive win on the Rigo undercard.

When Kirkland backed out, and GGG canceled his April fight for bereavement, K2 made and offer to TR to make a PPV with JCCJr.....

It was during those early JCCJr talks, while GGG was on mandatory 40 day bereavement period, that Lara said he'd fight GGG.

It very well may have been a genuine offer, regardless of network issues, it could be made in Monte Carlo with solid WealthTV money backing it if promoters couldnt come together about venue.

That said, it wasnt a duck by any means. GGG was on bereavement and the moment he would have been able to fght, Lara took the biggest fight at LMW there is....and he will WIN that fight by KO.:deal

 

I know I'm aware of how things went I just wanted to see what Sweet had to say. If Lara beats Canelo, which I'm hoping he will, we'll see if that tune still holds and see if he continues to "call out" GGG with the intention of negotiating and just spewing hot air.

 

GGG is likely the best at 160 lbs but for now Cotto is the man.

Do think GGG vs Lara would be a great fight two world class amateurs fighting in the Pros.

He won't even fight Lara.

But......if he fights Rubio, he might just fight Canelo in May on the Pac vs Mayweather undercard....and that would be ok by me.

He knows he's not the best MW.....99% of the world know he's not the best MW.....it's the 1% of DKSAB fans and GGG haters who think he's the top MW.

That said.....no a snowballs chance in hell of Cotto vs GGG, even if GGG took a 1% purse split and gave Cotto an 11 rd handicap.

 

I don't believe that bereavement crap.

The fact is everybody will have bereavements. The NBA, NFL and other boxers have bereavement but don't let it effect their future events/bouts.
I remember recently when Bernard Hopkins lost his mother and he was in the ring soon after. In fact, he dedicated the fight to his mother.
GGG used that bereavement as an excuse. He has promoters who handle all the issues while he is taking care of family business.

 

It's mandatory according to his customs. He could have made 1 million bucks fighting BJ Saunders or NJkam...they both were willing to make the date.....but GGG did what his team and his family wished....what his father wanted.

Lara and GGG are gonna be around for another 5-6 yrs, and while I don't give Lara much of a chance vs GGG, I do think he'd UD Cotto, KO Quillin, outbox Soliman in a close fight.

And when he KOs Can'telHOE, next week, Cotto's paytrain will be derailed and he'll be forced to fight Rubio while Can'telHOE comes back vs someone like NJkam.deal:deal

 

^^ in Kazakhstan, after the death of a loved one. It's a 40 day bereavement, if your religious and strick then it goes beyond that for example, no tv, no cellphone etc.

I know this for a fact.

 

OH.....and Americanized ppl rarely bereave. We have our wakes and our funerals, and our memorials, but we don't do much more than a week of bereavement.

Kazakhs have their own culture and the Golovkin family is obviously serious about it.:think
