And you'd think that if they can let TKO6 go and move on, fans could....

I think some are forgeting that Vitali was handily winning that fight and the stoppage was bs. The cut wasn't worse at the end of round 6 than it was at the end of round 5.

Vitali got stopped, get over it ***** who cares what he was winning.

:goodThey also seem to forget Lewis retired instead of rematching Vitali that should tell people all they need to know.

Vitali was up 4 -2, no doubt.

But the cut was fu ckin' horrendeous.

    The stoppage was justified.

2 of the GOAT heavyweights who don't get the credit they deserve because of geezers obsessed with the mafia cruiserweight '70s.

It's not that Lewis retired at 38, it's that he dug himself a hole by saying the rematch would happen then abruptly retiring. He should have just capped off a great career, said he was done.

You really appear to be a little shitstarter don't you, your just attacking people left and right, calm down  no need to rage, the fight was 11 years ago.

The last 2 rounds were closer, they were both gassed neither one of them looked in control.

he should do what you think, should he?

he cant just retire when he wants to, and say what he feels he wants to at the end of a fight?

LENNOX - if you are reading this, listen to this guy. he thinks you should do what he tells you to do. Not what you think you should do. next time Lennox, please fight on way past the age of every HW before you that shared your undisputed title.

I suspect he wanted you to throw the fight against the way inferior to you Vitali too just for his satisfaction.

Vitali won the first two rounds handily. He lost the 3rd round on two cards, won the 4th, lost the 5th on one card and lost the 6th on all cards. That shows that it was a close fight after the 3rd. Final cards - though they were irrelevant - only had them seperated by two points. It wasn't like Vitali was winning everything.

As far as the cuts go, I seem to remember Foreman saying the fight should have been stopped earlier than it was because they were so bad. They were definitely bad enough to justify the stoppage regardless. Ironically, if the fight had been stopped earlier than the 6th round Vitali and his fan would have a stronger argument about him controling the fight.

Except it doesn't. Vitali and his fans say its because Lewis was afraid of him. Lewis and his fan say it was because he was at the end of his career and had nothing left to prove. The truth was probably that Lewis didn't have the passion anymore and wasn't prepared to commit himself to boxing full time and only wanted a few more easy paydays before he retired so wasn't willing to have another difficult fight.

Lewis would have laid Vitali the **** out in a rematch, but he was 38 and couldnt be bothered and retired.
