    Wow!

    Nothing like being objective.

Roy beat plenty of good fighters, and you should know who they were.

    Tarver - no excuse?

He didn't turn pro while 28/29, and had only fought 22 times.

Roy had fought 50 times, and had to drop from 200 pounds to 175, in a short period of time, after other fights at HW had failed to materialise in the summer of 2003.

    Weak as cancer Toney?

Yeah, you need to talk to Jackie Kallen.

Was James as weak when he knocked out Williams and Littles in the same year?

A scam win over Griffin in the rematch?

    Cheated in the first fight?

Roy had every right to be DQ'd, but Griffin clearly play acted.

Griffin was a decent fighter though.

Ruiz isn't a small win, stop hating.

What other LHW's in 2002, were knocking on Ruiz's door wanting a fight?

    NOBODY!

How many guys who've fought at MW-LHW have even attempted to go and fight at HW?

What do you mean he failed to beat Hopkins?

He beat him with a fractured hand at 24, and Hopkins didn't lose for another 12 years.

    Keep up the great posts!

Only in the minds of an idiot.

Nobody who had concerns over his chin, would fight a 220 pound HW who'd dropped Holy, and then pursue fights with Holy and Tyson, even if they were past their best.

He really didn't duck a lot of guys and avoid challenges.

That's a common misconception, that doesn't hold weight when looked at objectively.

    Roy did not avoid danger.

He started out at 160 and 154, and went up to HW, in his mid 30's.

    That's not avoiding danger.

Avoiding danger, would have been staying in one division and just ticking over steadily.

Also, there's fights that didn't get made for various reasons.

    DM wouldn't go the U.S.

Liles backed out of a fight, and then his manager left him because he was pissed at his actions.

Hopkins killed the rematch in 2002.

    Eubank wasn't interested.

Holyfield wasn't interested in the 90's.

You need to do some research before you make ridiculous comments.

Why do you keep saying that Hopkins won in 93?

Hopkins in 2010, just prior to their rematch stated that in his opinion, Roy was the only guy to have beaten him clean, without any controversy.

    weak as cancer sick
Do you know what is James' opinion of her after she sold his ass for cheap?
It was Williams' 1st fight ever @ 168, after spending his career @ 175 and above 175 . Williams was 6 years older than Toney, spent and drained.

Also Toney never knocked out Littles, but do not let reality intervene in your posts, since you know very little about it and it is probably already more than you wanted to know.

I will not bother digging the interview with Griffin for you. Do it by yourself.

The DQ came out of nowhere.

Griffin was also robbed of the Oscar
Decent was too much for Jones to handle so he cheated and then had to rely on a scam.

outpointing Ruiz by 3 points > Lamon Brewster's eventual demolition of Wladimir

    James Toney?
No, he had to wait until he beat Jirov and stopped Holyfield. Only then he knocked on Ruiz' door 1 year later.

Toney, Barkley, Mustafa M, Ishida (and he actually fought @ 154) ,
    Ellis.

If I tried to be a smartass lying hypocrite like the rest here, you included, I could more than triple this list using names from the bronze age.

    watch the fight

I saw enough beatings to know what they are and what are not

    a quote to behold

    154
    another quote to behold
    like he did at 175?
With Roy there were far more reasons
And RJ would not go to Germany nor to a neutral country.
But DM was not even the only one he ducked @ 175.

BTW, Liles was 4 years older than Jones.
I know ages count only when Ali, Louis or Tyson lost, but still.

    Hopkins is another fraud

Eubanks bought into Jones' hype more than he bought into his own.
Maybe it helps to explain how he could be swayed by Collins' mind games.

    Holyfield ducked Jones !
    another post to behold.

    :yep

Did I say he won in 93 ?

Hopkins, being such an overhyped fraud had to rely on your semantics to the English vocabulary.

Titles in four weight classes, a respectable light heavyweight reign, and wins over hall of famers in Hill, Toney, Hopkins and McCallum along with some decent contenders commands a fair amount of respect. Of course you could say that some of the greats he beat were either past it, green or out of their best classes, but the same can be said for many of the greats that other legends have beaten. Can't rate him #1 all time and frankly I don't even know if he's worthy of top 10. But he's definitely an all time great. No question.

I guess we have different definitions of great.

Duran beat Leonard who is next on my list, the 6th greatest fighter in boxing history imo. Defeating him is one of the best boxing displays I've ever seen.

If you want to be the pound for pound GOAT, then you are up against men like Bob Fitzsimmons, Sam Langford, Harry Greb, Henry Armstrong, Ray Robinson.

That is the level that the bar is set at!

I'd favour Jones to beat all of those I have seen film of.
