Tough to say what Ike woulda done b/c he went nutso so soon.

He turned pro at 21, but didnt step up until he was 25, and then after a tough outing vs Tua, he went back to bottom feeding for almost 2 yrs before catching and stopping Byrd.

Both great wins in any era, but with only those wins, and being 28 y/o, how would his taking punishment style fair against the likes of Lewis, Vitali, Wlad, Valuev, and how would he fair vs a tough as snot Brewster and Liakovich or another monster puncher with size in Briggs.
Could he beat a 48 yo Foreman eating punches like he did?
How would Mercer have loved to have hit him with those upjabs?
Imagine the Tyson 3 yrs prior to his Lewis fight teeing off on him?

Too many other boogeyman to know if his chin wouldnt have cracked at one point, and if he wouldnt have gotten gone into drugs(I know he did) but went the route of Tyson with the fame?????

Yeah, he's a mythical H2H beast, and he is probably overhyped, but we'll never know since he couldnt handle the pressures associate with beating a couple fringe contenders at that time......Imagine the pressures he'd have felt had he beaten Holyfield, Lewis, Ruiz and actually won a title.:think:think:think

My God....he may well have stormed the oval office and ripped Bill Clinton apart and taken over America as we know it.:yep:yep

We might be under his dictatorship right now, a NWO under Ike.:lol::lol:

He did have it all, physically speaking, but they say boxings 90s% mental.....and the Prez was 110% mentally ******ed.

Crazy thing is he beat two fringe contenders before they were bonafide and he thought he was the GOAT.

Like I said previously.....Imagine if he'd beaten Lewis or Tyson or Holyfield or Ruiz......

The World might look a lot different about now:shock::shock::shock:

I knew Ike from the day he walked into Curtis Cokes Home of Champions gym & told everyone he was going to be Heavyweight Champion of the World. That was 1993 I believe.. 3 months later Ike walked through the Golden gloves Dallas & Texas championships winning both He went to Lowell Mass for the nationals & was alleged to have been beaten by a local fighter. Ike made the mistake of letting him go the distance. That was the ONLY fight Ike ever lost. Curtis trained him & molded him from a crude slugger into a complete boxer puncher. Ike outboxed Tua the slugger & totally anihalated the boxer Chris Byrd. Ike's only mistake was calling that hooker in Vegas
Someone above commented that Ike was insane. Let me ask you this.....
Would you be OK if you had been kept drugged like a zombie for 14 months while they tried to build a case against him. His word against hers. Neither the hooker nor the police had a mark on themwhen he was arrested. If Ike didn't want to be arrested someone would have been. Any mental problems I ke has now were in my opinion caused by those drugs they pumped into him for 14 months.
The only fighter that had a chance against Ike was Lennox Lewis & that was on the cards Wow what a fight
Bowe would run from Ike like he did Lennox Ike would beat Vitali into submission & then laugh when Wlad did a disappearing act lol
What happened to Ike Ibeabuchi was a travesty

Please can someone tell this gimp that I'm not sweetsciencegurus. If you weren't so ******ed, a quick view of my profile would have indicated to your dumb ass that I've been here since 2012, and in no time since that period have I ever made a thread about Russell Jr nor engage in a serious discussion about him.

Thats what the Ike critics just dont get. Its not what he was its what he was capable of becoming that people dont understand. What was he like 25 when he had his last.

He was the first guy to beat Tua and the first guy to knock Chris Byrd out. Considering how elusive a prime Byrd was that a special feat to acccomplish.
The only man to fight Tua Toe to Toe. Tua was landing Knockout punches on Ike and took and returned with more fire.

to say the truth i had tua wining. any way it is shame how his career ended! But maybe its better there is all ways chance that he would become fat ass like peter and become unmotivated.

Also i think Lewis would have ruined him if that was his next fight after byrd.

    Bowe.

    Ike underrated? LOL???

Boxers who go to prison are like dead rockstars.
Suddenly everyone "saw something amazing in them" because they know they can never be proven wrong.
