This fight has gone to purse bids for the British title. Does anyone know much about Tyrone nurse. Is he any use. I remember seeing him in the prizefighter. Seems very skillful.
Tyrone is a skillfull fighter but doesn't seem to hit hard but could prove a tricky bout but imo unless Willie was to be offered silly money to fight Tyrone Nurse he will continue trying to get a European Title shot! At Willie's age he will know there is not lots of bouts left and he will try secure the biggest fights he can whilst doing that!!
Correct David. I heard Limond was promised a European title shot if he beat Woodhouse, so I don't think the Nurse fight will be something he wants. I've been impressed with Tyrone Nurse every time I've seen him and like you say he doesn't look to have a lot of power, but he's gritty and determined and he controlled Goodjohn well in his last fight and looked a lot stronger than I first thought. Imo Limond should go for the European which Italian Michele Di Rocco has and try and get it here in Glasgow.
I hope Willie gets a crack at the euro title before he retires but he knows only to well the sport is full of broken promises. Tyrone has sparred in my gym many times and each time he seems to have got a little stronger, very fast hand and a good switch hitter.
I thought Tyrone Nurse looked excellent at the Crolla/Murray bill earlier this year. Seems a really nice lad too.
I think Nurse would just have too high of a work rate for Limond. I hope Willie can get the European title shot he deserves it.. See both fighters a lot. Nurse is a excellent mover with an excellent engine abs throws lots of punches..
Tough fight for both. limond is tough and keeps coming and nurse doeany hit hard enough to stop him with oneshot. at this stage of limonds career id take nurse to win on points in an entertaining fight. i wouldnt be too surprised if nurse stopped him late with ref stopingit. as nurse throws a lot and is slightly bigger naturally.
I like Tyrone Nurse - skillful fighter, gone about his business without the backing of a big promoter - picking up central area, english belts on the way. Lonsdale belt shot is long overdue
