Billy the Braehead was booked for some kind of event at the time that's why it went to the King's Hall in Belfast. It was made public that Scott was to fight Guzman.

I agree though we should have seen both Scott and Ricky get the unification fights.

Above is the information on Scott's camp having to turn down the Barrera fight as he was to fight Guzman. Also thanks Ryan for adding my old thread in regarding Scott v Marquez/Guzman. Were you not in Scott's camp still in March 2006 Billy?

Scott got jailed in 2006 thanks to his manager and trained for Nicky Cook not Barrera, Guzman or Marquez.
So that article doesn't have any relevance, if Scott was due to fight in 2006 in Belfast the fight may have got cancelled due to Scott's issues, but I honestly can't remember training to fight for Guzman

In fairness Steve, Scott was released from prison and had only 6-7 weeks to prepare, he got down to LW then was burning into muscle so had no option, he was pulled out 6 days before the fight.

Correct, And something Steve should realise no British boxer worked harder than Scott to make the weight, to his detriment I believe. As I believe after Mendina 2 he should have moved up.

Scott was meant to fight Guzman in Belfast around summer time 2006, but Guzman went down another route. Martin Honorio came in as a replacement, but he went missing as well. The bill went ahead without Scott and Amir Khan and Danny Williams were on it.
Scoot was then meant to fight Marquez, but Marquez withdrew from the mandatory that's how Nicky Cook stepped into replace him. Scott ended up getting the jail in Spain training and couldn't make the weight in time when he got out.

I all honesty moog he could have and should have moved up after mc culling IMO he was killing himself to make the weight, I've never seen a fighter fight so hard against the scales,I did suggest moving up but the belt was his money maker that's why he stayed at FW
Scott would have been a more natural SFW

ryan I don't know who's told you the Marquez story but at no time was his name ever mentioned to fight Scott I do believe I'd have remembered that.
I'm sure a few days after Scott's release Peter, Scott, Barry ( his manager) and myself went to London to promote the cook fight don't know we're your getting marquez's name from

Billy you might have went down to London with Scott, his trainer and manager to promote the Cook fight, but Marquez was the mandatory he then withdrew that's how Cook became the new mandatory. It's a fact.

that may be the case but the point is at no time was Scott sanctioned to fight Marquez?
His manager Barry at the time has told me this himself, so if you've been told otherwise there not telling the truth
I actually felt for Barry he put £££ into Scott and he never actually fought for him

admire ur support for harrison ryan /moog but uz dont honestly think he would have beat marquez and to suggest atg would duck harrison then billys on here saying tht they were never sanctioned to fight just because he was mandatory and fight never happened dont mean he ducked him cmon many reasons fights dont happen uz talk as if harrisons was a walking wrecking machine striking fear of god into ppl at time he was world class but thats in past nowdont think he would have beaten marquez or guzman at any time in career

Case closed : Billy, who was his trainer has stated that there was never a JMM fight sorted. Good enough for me.
