    Back in the day, Bi-Polar Bob Arum, the cheap and stringy lonesome promoter coined Oscar De La Hoya with the Golden Boy label because he saw that Oscar had the image to make him a ton of money.
    Arum's greed was a little too obvious and Oscar decided to rebel against his former slaveholder, taking his talent and newly established Golden Boy name with him. Hence the beginning of Golden Boy Promotions.

    Year and tens of pounds of cocaine later, Oscar's fame and fortune declined as the Golden Boy stumbled down the path of self loathing and self destruction. Only recently has Oscar regained his footing and with a greatly tarnished the GBP brand name attempting to recover the company.

    Meanwhile, Yet another former Top Rank slave successfully escapes the auction house via the underground railroad and once free succeeds in becoming the world's highest paid athlete, the world's #1 P4P boxer, and the number 1 name brand recognized ahtlete in the world. This brand, Mayweather Promotions that would become 100x larger than Golden Boy. The new Platinum Man, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
