Gavronski is hit with a left hook as Johnson charges out from his corner. Gavronski barely has the legs to get outside, flipping up left jabs lightly and then pausing to wait for Johnson and convert his guard into a reach-out and tie-up. Gavronski is shoving Johnson away, then slapping with both hands at the head of Johnson around his gloves. Left hooks on the body by Johnson. Johnson now has turned southpaw as he stalks, feigning with the right jab, notched but not actually loosing the arrow. Johnson switches to orthodox and jabs in with his left. Gavronski bends over and ties up. Flush jab on the chin by Johnson. Gavronski is dropping low, nose at Johnson's cup. Gavronski backs out southpaw, throwing limp right jabs. Johnson is blocking jabs coming forward and sticking his elbows and forearms out to drive Gavronski on the backfoot. Body shots by Johnson. Gavronski smothers in close, wending his face into Johnson's armpit.

Round 7

Gavronski is getting clouted with the short chopping right hand inside when he bends forward into Johnson. Uppercuts on the body from Johnson, shaking Gavronski free when he clinches, grappling and clutching at Gavronski's biceps to pick him up by them and move him backward. Johnson is bobbing in through Gavronski's weak left jab and clinging to him, getting tied up but hitting the body and chopping the side of the head repeatedly with his right. The ref breaks a clinch. Gavronski steps outside and is caught with a long step-through jab.

Round 8

Gavronski is pushing Johnson into a corner, now. Gavronski opens up with hooks and rights. Johnson weathers it and stays low. Gavronski ends up draping his arms over him and they grind to a standstill and the ref comes in for a break. Johnson throws a left and Gavronski traps it under his right arm. Johnson works uppercuts on the body with his free hand. Gavronski backs out and throws some left uppercuts and long chopping rights, very weakly. Johnson blocks anyway, respectfully keeping his gloves up as he presses in and works the body. Gavronski down, slip. They wrestle in the middle of the ring. Johnson rams his left arm into Gavronski's chest to back him off. Left hook by Gavronski, ducked. Right hand inside by Johnson, stunning Gavronski. Uppercut by Johnson. Southpaw turn, hard right jab by Johnson. Gavronski is wilting. Gavronski leans in to rest his face on Johnson's left shoulder. Uppercut by Johnson snaps it loose. Flurries by Gavronski, noodled. Johnson lets Gavronski back him up with arms bearing down on his own, head positioned under his chin.

Round 9

Gavronski is again starting aggressively, throwing right hands at the head and left hooks on the body as he rushes Johnson into the ropes. Johnson ducks and slips most of it, and what does land is very light as Gavronski even with his second wind has little snap left. Johnson is targeting Gavronski's face with left hooks and right hands. Gavronski wobbles as he is caught with a far-reaching right stepping away following a break. Johnson keeps rolling up the right hand but is losing a bit of steam himself. Jab and triple chopping right on the side of the head by Johnson. Gavronski is drooping over as though hung on a clothesline as he backs up. Clinch as Johnson moves in.

Yeah, I have no faith in 2nd-gear Tureano closing the show - I meant in the corner of Gavronski after the eighth. They delayed the start of the ninth by nearly a full minute. I guess the doctor was having a look at Mike.
