I know this fight won't happen, but wouldn't it be nice if while both of these two were in limbo they put together a fight at SMW? :yep

ward would be like; I don't want to fight my idol.
But BHOP would be like: Don't take this ass whipping personal. It's strictly business.

BHOP wouldn't probably take it inside and rough Ward up using his own game plan.

Only you would like this fight has gay wrestling headbutting match written all over it

They might as well put saucepans in there heads and charge at eachother

If the fight happened it would have pretty decent gate and viewer numbers.
The #2 P4P boxer versus the ageless Master boxing alien.

The only question is, if BHOP won would he be considered the #2 P4P, or would he still be overlooked and discriminated against because of his age?

    How?
He doesn't throw enough punches per round, and his bread and butter punch is the left hook.
Ward does have a nice stiff jab but his straight right follow up is pretty weak.
I would love to see who would win between them in using the jab.

I think Ward would win as Hopkins is way, way past his best but it wouldn't be one sided. As SweetSciGuru said Ward's right hand is pretty weak, he relies heavily on the left hook and if Hopkins can sneak his right inside his left hook which is possible as Hopkins right hand is still very good then he will give Ward problems.

Ward will likely be the one forcing the fight, he prefers to fight inside. Hopkins of course is very good inside, though is no longer the physical fighter he was in his prime. But he may still know enough to be able to stifle the busier Ward when in close.

Ward's speed and footwork though will be the deciding factor along with Hopkins advance age. He will be able to cut the ring off on Hopkins much like Calzaghe did. Ward of course isn't as busy as Calzaghe but he has other skills other than work rate that will earn him the decision.

today ward wins, he can force a pace like superfit joe calzaghe but can also land MUCH more accurately, facilitating a decision way better than a life and death split decision.

I have to give the slight edge to Ward also, but only due to Age.
If Hopkins were 41 again, as he was when he faced Tarver, I'd have BHOP as a 2:1 favourite.
BTW: When Hopkins faced Tarver, he was 9-0 against soutpaws.

If he were 39, as he was against Joppy, I'd have him a 3:1 favourite.

BTW: When Hopkins faced Tarver, he was 9-0 against southpaws.

    Why not at 175 lbs?

Ward is lacking fights at 168 lbs at the minute, would like to see him fight Stevenson, Kovalev and Hopkins and clean out 175 lbs.

Thinking about it who is there for Ward at 168 lbs :think.
