At the end of this fight Gil Clancy is calling out George Foreman at ringside, Quarry was a good money fight for George. Why did George not want Quarry? Was it because of Jerry's solid chin, power and success against the Big slower power punchers. Quarry already beat Mac Foster 6"3 215, Shavers and Lyle 6'3 220....was George rightfully afraid?

I don't think he really did...if he did, it would have been for nothing really, as I think Foreman would tko Jerry within 4.

Seems ludicrous that George would duck Quarry, except maybe in the first two yeas of his career. Jerry was a cruiserweight. He would not have been much trouble for Foreman at all.

I think it may be a matter of styles, Quarry had success against the Big Slow Bombers and Foreman suffered from fatigue after 5 rounds and Jerry could bang, I agree that Foreman was a punching talent but Quarry's solid chin would negate a lot of that

Let's take Foreman at his word. He said that he had ducked Quarry.

so avoiding him because foreman was green at that time and quarry had much more experience and his team did not want risks AT THAT TIME is it = being scared?

    No. Did George duck Frazier?

Jerry isnt slick enough, quick enough, elusive enough (Jimmy Young) to trouble George

I have never been of the mind that just because a fighter or his manager " calls out " someone, that the refusal to fight is necessarily a duck. For the brief period Foreman was champion he fought the elite of the division which was Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, and Muhammad Ali, with a stay busy fight against a weaker guy in Jose Roman ( something most champions do at least once. ) Doesn't seem to me that he had much time or room to fight Quarry as Frazier, Norton and Ali were the top dogs. Was Quarry's style as palatable for Foreman as he would have liked? Probably not. But George was sure eating up the division while Quarry was beaten by Ali, Frazier, Ellis, and Chuvalo.

Quarry was on a good run and had beat undefeated Ron Lyle and Earnie Shavers and had a rep for beating Foreman type guys just seemed like a good match at the time considering Quarry was a giant killer and George was the head giant
