Plenty of opportunities to learn from this fight for Smith.

Good, solid performance, and Biosse had just enough success to give him material to work on in the next training camp. I'd like to see Smith use his legs and mobility more defensively instead of simply shelling up and moving straight back until he can get the clinch- a better pressure fighter or roughhousing fighter will have a field day with that.

 

Those 10 rounds will do Smith much more good than another early stoppage though.

 

Shame the Rocky Fielding fight was x-nayed so quickly....that'd be a good fight for Smith right now

Oh absolutely. This will help him out with pacing and how to manage a longer fight for sure.

 

It can be a big thing for a young fighter to complete 10 rounds for the first time. Smith now knows himself he can complete 10 rounds comfortably and Smith done 10 at a decent pace against a tough man.

 

That was a good learning fight for Smith, but he still has a lot to learn if he wants to dance with the big boys.
