lara-canelo... the robbery we expected but hoped wouldn't happen

clearly lara won the fight. yeah, he moved a little too much. but then again, canelo hit air all night. lara was clearly the superior fighter and deserved a decision win by a big margin. i had it 116 112 for lara. but we knew that lara would have to knock canelo out or at least knock him down a couple of times to get the decision...canelo is the money fighter and he's the mexican in a sport with a predominantly mexican fan base....don't understand how they could have a mexican judge, levi martinez doing this fight. they need to stop doing that. for the rematch, the judges should be from germany, sweden and china.

I had it 115-113 Lara. It was close so I don't have much of a problem with it other than one judging having it 117-111.

what didn't impress me about Alvarez, or what impressed me about Lara, was how lara did after the 8th round. He was cut, taking a lot of body shots, and all the momentum was in Canelo's favor. I thought Canelo had taken over and was going to win convincingly.

He didn't. I gave Lara rounds 9 thru 11. He was moving and picking his shots well and landing the cleaner blows.

 

I'm getting tired of all these robberies! If Canelo is supposed to be the money fighter keep on feeding him jrWW's and the people will keep on buying.

 

yeah, a mexican judge... a MEXICAN judge robbed lara. lara didn't have to do anything but win the fight. this is "boxing."..it's not "completely dominate and/or KO the mexican fighter to get the win"

 

And Lara claimed he would completely domintate Canelo...it was a lose lose night for Lara

 

i agree...why have him fight guys like lara and then he LOSES big then they have to rob those guys so canelo can keep his title? let him fight a buncha scrubs that he can knock out easy....that way everyone will be happy. i mean, even showtime announcers scored the fight for lara, so you KNOW canelo lost.

The one in which Lara managed to mostly outbox Alvarez.

Canelo made some beautiful adjustments in the middle, but looked absolutely foolish early & late.
