No, that would mean that you simply do not know anything about boxing

    Yeah because of Martinez's card.

Had it been 113-115 and 115-113x2 it would be the wrong guy receiving the nod in a match with a lot of close rounds with two divisively conflicting styles, and that would have been acceptable.

117-111 makes it a shitty verdict.

Replace Martinez with an honest, competent judge and who knows? It could have been a 113-115 & 115-113x2 (or 115-113 and one even wider card) SD for Lara.

Some fights remind me of abortion and death penalty debates. It's impossible to get people all on the same side and the debate will never end.

It was fun. Both fighters found different ways to adapt to what the other fighter was trying to do. I'd watch a rematch, that;s for sure.

A fight this close can't be a robbery.

Lara could have won clearly if he threw more punches but he didn't.

Very hard to score given the differing styles.

Even the people who scored it for Alvarez in here are deriding that card.

You are by your lonesome if you are defending it.

    Shitty is too harsh.
If the wide card was 115-113 (or 116-112) for Canelo the result would be the same SD. We've all seen many bouts where 2 of the 3 judges cards are close to one another, and the third card isn't. We've all seen worse divergent scores.

Lara fought a pro fight with an amateur game plan.

That's how a fighter who is way better than his opponent gives him the fight.

Alvarez didn't deserve to win. He barely landed a clean shot and was looking stupid most of the time.

Lara deserved to lose more though. That was not boxing, that was running. There is a difference. At no time did Lara appear to be trying to pile damage onto Alvarez. He looked like he wanted to show he was the better boxer, which he did. But you don't win fights by being better, you win by fighting better.
