Despite the announcers claiming bodyshots will slow someone down later, they Never DO

Have you guys ever noticed how every single fight the announcers claim the bodywork will pay off later. .. It never does, ever. I have seen hundreds of fights and maybe 2 percent of the time tops will it ever do anything significant. The Canelo Lara fight is the perfect example.His body shots did nothing to effect Lara's stamina more so than normal fatigue from energy expenditure.

It's getting really old hearing it, but from first-hand knowledge of watching hundreds of fights I can claim body shots are less effective than head shots and will not do any serious damage unless a perfect liver or solar plexus shot is landed. I even go out of my way to be impressed when someone is landing body shots, and then go out of my way to look for the opponent being affected by them because it all sounds so skillful and strategic. Unfortunately the person almost always getting tired is being hit by clean head shots.

 

They slowed lara down enough for Canelo to beat his ass though

Well, Lara landed more heads shots, Canelo landed more body shots… who seemed to have slowed down more between rds 1 and 12???

They do slow fighters down. Maybe it's always obvious, but they do.

But I'd gladly take 10 flush jabs in the face over ONE solid body blow.

 

I will qualify that for you. I saw one of the kliskcos all most kill a man with 10 jabs to the face. lets say 10 pauli malinaggi jabs to the face :thumbsup

 

I've seen more devastating head shots than body shots. The reason people say go to the body is because it's easier for your opponent to move his head than his body.

 

laras offense slowed down after a few body shots, 8 punches a round? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Not only does it slow them down, see Tarver-Jones I, but it sets up shots to the head.

 

You need to get a pair of eye-glasses before you watch any more boxing.
