Lewis had shot is load in trying to finish off Vitali which why he slumped so hard in his corner. I don't believe Lewis had anything left in the tank for Vitali to worry about. But as they say, TKO6
Lewis was on his way out in that fight and he knew it. Why do you think he retired without giving the rematch he promised?
because he felt so guilty about Vitalis eye, Lewis thought hed better retire and allow Vitali to still have a livelihood
Lets not bull**** here, Vitali went back to the corner on spaghetti legs (courtsy of a Lewis temple shot on the ropes) and was going to get koed in the next round. He only made a big show out of it to protect his ego, he was wrecked by a out of shape Lewis. Klit fans are a bunch of liars.
Impossible to say what would have had happened had the fight carried on... We do however know that Lewis ran away from a very lucrative and high paying rematch, because he knew that Vitali had his number. :deal
I don't see how Klitschko could win, he was getting pummeled, his face would have fallen off, and lewis was in no immediate trouble, in fact lewis was just heating up. Lewis always starts fights slow, he lost round 1 to tyson, he lost the first few rounds to holyfield, klitschko fought bravely, but he woud have ran out of steam with all the running he was doing and he needed 80 stitches, how much more punches could he really take with half his face falling off. Lewis is a fighter who gets stronger as the fight goes on, Shanon briggs really gave lennox a tougher fight because he got up and kept fighting. Vitali was getting hit with large shots. While his chin was good, his skin would never stand up to the torture. It would be just a mater of ttimer before lewis knocked him out or half his face fell off
klitschko fans are still the worst in boxing. How can you say Lewis looked worse off than Vitali at the end of round 6?? are you blind? Lewis was stood up ready for round 7 while Vitali's corner were desperately trying to fix his eye, he held on to Lewis for dear life at the end of the round. Good stoppage, if it continued, Vitali would of lost his eye, got stopped, or retired on his stool. As boxing fans you should be relived Vit wasn't allowed to continue as that cut was one of the worst ive seen. How many more punches would it take from a heavy weight champ to damage that eye for life? not many. Also, Ive watched the fight many times, and yes, Vitali was winning until the end of round 5, his punches and angles were hurting and giving Lewis trouble, but as the fight goes on, Lewis walks through them and they lose there sting. Its lewis's punches at the end of round 5 and throughout round 6 that were hurting Vitali. Also remember the age gap between the 2. TKO6 forever.
