Apparently Algieri is stalling on signing because he thinks hes getting a bad deal, even though his promoter says its a good deal... What is this guy thinking??? He'll NEVER get this opportunity again!
Yup ,and when Arum says no, and Algieri goes back to fighting for 50k, where will this get him? Hen has until Monday to decide. Hes getting 1.5 million plus a cut of PPV...his previous biggest purse was 100k against Provo. He should be thanking his lucky stars hes getting this deal.
Looks like a Cherry Pick that's already going bad for them! He knows Manny wants this fight and he'll get more. They know he's a soft touch and Arum will do this for Manny.
And if Arum says "forget it", we'll go fight Alvarado or whoever? When your own promoter is basically calling you an idiot, thats all you need to know.
i personally would take it but algieri got nothing to lose.... he knows pacman got no other options so might as well try his luck......
I think he should accept the $1.5 million + PPV. He's in no position to dictate. Although he does have "nothing to lose", he does have something to gain.
Course he wants more, he's a smart guy, probably knows he'll lose to pacquiao and can demand more because even if arum does say no he's still got a world title belt and has some very winnable defences that he can rack up to earn some more money.
Pacquiao doesn't have many other options, Algieri might as well take advantage of that and try for more money. If not I would rather he got a few more World class wins anyway as of now he has 1 over a top 10 fighter.
