no doubt canelo will catch kirkland cold in the first round or two and drop him. if he isn't able to finish him and kirkland gets him pressed on the ropes, he may have some issues, as unlikely as that might be.

exactly beating an old shot Martinez with bad knees not to mention ring rust from not fighting for over year due to knee surgery got these people delusional.I would love to have seen cotto against Martinez in his prime cotto knows he would have been destroyed so he ducked Martinez until he was old and hurt.anyway canelo beats down cotto in fact cotto loses to the next decent fighter.maybe cotto waits until canelo gets an injury or two to fight him.

Kirklands has a good heart and punches hard but his defense in non existent and plus that Wolfe is a crap trainer. Alvarez will beat him to a bloody pulp inside 5 rounds.

    Great fight either way.

Kirkland only knows how to fight one way.

I keep seeing this fight getting mentioned as possible. To me i just dont see there even being a possibility for this fight. If oscar mentioned Kirkland imo it was a bluff.

    This fight wont happen. Imo

what are you talking about "record number of punches"

    http://compuboxonline.com/compubox-stats-lara-ko-10-angulo/

    http://www.***********.com/forums/view.php?pg=kirkland-angulo-compubox

angulo threw 74 and 86 punches in round one and three, respectively, against kirkland and then proceeded to get beat down and kod in round six

    angulo threw 74, 76, 75, 82, 76, 88 and 80 in rounds 1,3,4,6,8 and 9, respectively, before quitting against lara.

how did angulo "punch himself out" against kirkland but not against lara?

you make zero sense with your theory.

    none.

3 times is not luck. Heres the thing though.

Go look at Ishida AM KO record.. I forget the exact numbers off the top of my head but it was actually pretty amazing KO% for high level AM fights. Ishida can punch.

The thing is, he spent a lot of his career weight draining himself for whatever reason. But his punches are accurate and he actually hits pretty hard when he is healthy and pulls off his weight management.

This is an excellent fight. Probably ends in a ko within the first half of the fight.

I think Alvarez should be a clear favorite but you can't count Kirkland out with his power and aggression.

I thought when they were being lined up to fight a year or two ago that it was much more of an even fight. Now, Alvarez has picked up a lot of experience from fighting top fighters and he should stop Kirkland

Kirkland hasn't fought since December and had been off for more than 20 months before that. It would be nice to see him get an easy fight in first just to cut down on the inactivity the last few years.
