The first fight stank at the gates and PPV....

Maybe the second will be better?

All sources have indicated between 820-900 K buys.

Where is your number of 750 K from?

First of all, it's called Mayhem, not Moment 2

Secondly, it was the 5th highest grossing gate sales of all time.... wtf are you on?

Thirdly, it did 900k, not 750 like Pac's ppv

    :hi:

I actually think it will beat the first one. The other viewing options in May probably cut 100,000 buys off the promotion. Nevertheless, no way does it do the 1.5-1.75 million that some Mayweather loyalists are predicting.

I think this fight will do better.

People know who Maidana is. They know he has a chance.

    Exciting match.

I wish Floyd would do something spectacular and fight Manny or perhaps go for a middleweight belt; but i will tune in for this.

It will beat the first one. Nobody thought Maidana would be competitive prior to the first bout. While Maidana is clearly still the underdog it will be interesting to see if Mayweather can do any better this time round or if he once again struggles to subdue Maidana.

A quick google search brought up these (always iffy) sources. I have def read the same "800-900 K" figure in multiple other places...

    http://www.boxingnews24.com/2014/05...800-900-k-range-according-to-rafaels-sources/

"Dan Rafael of ESPN says that his sources in the boxing industry tell him that the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Marcos Maidana fight brought in just 800,000 to 900,000 pay-per-view buys on Showtime PPV this month. The numbers still haven’t been officially released by Showtime..."

    http://www.si.com/boxing/counter-punch/2014/05/29/floyd-mayweather-marcos-maidana-boxing

"The May 3 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana generated an estimated 900,000 pay per view buys, multiple industry sources told SI.com. The 900,000 buys represent a precipitous drop from the 2.2 million buys Mayweather generated in his fight with Saul Alvarez last September..."

It'll beat the 850k to 900k the first one did. People know Maidana a bit better, and the last one was exciting, and from what I remember had to compete with multiple NBA game 7s that night.

I think this one does a Mil.

I think it'll be around the same buys, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. I can't see it cracking 1 mill. It'd be nice if Porter-Brook was the co-feature though.
