Watch Bernard Hopkins when he jabs and punches. He tucks his head down so he won't be hit with counters. I'm not sure if he has his eyes closed. He's probably looking at his opponent's feet.

People say that BHOP fights slow and throws few punches, but can you believe in his average bout he out throws and out lands 2-3x what Canelo threw and landed against Lara, and this is from a 50 year old man.

And if you teach boxing, you of all people, should appreciate all styles.

And should also know that rarely is there a fighter who looks excellent against all styles.

Lara has had worse nights than Canelo has ever had. Yet, just because people that don't know **** about boxing, only praise the so called 'pure boxer', he gets bombarded with hate (not saying you are hating).

Fact is, Lara looked like crap against Molina, was taken to the very edge against Angulo, yet he is praised as a boxing genius by some idiots. I am willing to bet that Canelo puts the hurt on Molina with ease, and he already destroyed Angulo without a single problem.

This rant is not necessarily directed at you. I am just tired of too many idiots who either diss or ignore different styles that are not of their liking.

Imagine if Canelo decided to stop following Lara around the ring, without Lara engaging. I'm willing to bet the ref would FORCE the ginger to fight.

    Just saying...

you're an idiot. you should critique the punches canelo "landed" to make it fair, but you won't because you know canelo's punches were all much more garbage than lara's and the only argument you have is saying lara ran.

His whining is getting tiresome. Next time try putting a little hurt on your opponent. Works wonders with the judges and the public

I know what the published numbers said. But I think Canelo may be connected 45 Power punches. That said, Lara should have make a point and back up Canelo a few time with combinations. It was his fault. He knew he was pretty much fighting in Mexico City

Big mistake from Lara's group to allow a Mexican descendant judge to participate in the fight.

This. He needed to leave no doubt and he didn't. It was a draw in my eyes.

And Lara was back peddling the entire fight b/c he's a brave "warrior"

If Canelo didn't chase Lara there wouldn't have even been a fight. It would have been a ballerina exhibition, with a Lara running :yep

It's only natural for a fighter to think he won a close fight. It would have been nice if he'd given a little respect to Canelo after the fight.

I don't buy into that Compubox/Showstat crap. While I scored it 7-5 Lara, I had no problem with the decision.

Only thing I didn't like was the 117-111 scorecard.

I agree with 117 - 111, all Lara did was run. In boxing you need to throw punches, Lara did not....................

ONE UPPERCUT BY ALVAREZ DID MORE DAMAGE THAN ALL OF LARA'S COMBINED. ALVAREZ' BODY PUNCHES WERE AWESOME..............

i hear u. truth be told...i like canelo's style. he still has more to learn. crowing him king before he's earned it is not the way.

i agree...lara lost to molina. i thought he should have been given the decision against williams and i had him winning againt vanes.

sure...he struggled against angulo, but that was a different angulo than the one canelo fought. i thought canelo lost to trout...but lara schooled him. styles do make fights. i can appreciate all styles. i think molina gives canelo fits too. that dude is so herky jerky...he's not an easy fight for anyone.
