Who would you lot rate among the best?

A lot of our fighters seem to suffer from poor defenses in my opinion, especially when compared to American fighters.

Arnie's lads are all good defensively, Butler rarely gets caught flush, slips shots very well and works very good off the ropes!

Carl is one fighter and he has his own style which can not be changed he boxed like that as a amatuer.

If you look at alot of the amateurs from the GB squad hes worked wonders and theres alot more defensive work goes on with ams. The likes of campbell joshua ogogo selby fowler stalker ect came on leaps and bounds under him then look at those that have stopped working with him ogogo stalker seem to have took backwards steps, I know joshua and campbell still go dwn to Sheffield for sparring and do bits of work there.

You cant judge a coach on one fighter iv seen rob work and his attention to detail especially with footwork and range is quality

Dont get me wrong completely agree with you about not judging trainer by one fighter was said more tongue in cheek regarding carl.

However in terms of amateur fighters cant judge him on that either as that game isnt really about throwing hurtful punches so probably cant give too much credit for defensive skills here either.

personally lot of time for rob as a coach.

I dont really understand what your saying to be honest amatuer is alot more defensive its about not taking shots and conceding points which requires alot more footwork head movement blocking n parrying shots ect.

I know what u mean about carl his defnce is non exsistant at times ha good job he has a stong chin

You could have Carl work with Mayweather snr for 10 years and he'd still eat punches like skittles.

Peter Harrison is right up there, look at way Limond avoided nearly every big right hander Woodhouse throw, how his son Scott had a great defence in his prime. Shows boxers how to use there elbows and shoulders to roll and block punches, spoil up close. Another is the Ingles, who teach there fighters to dance in and out of range really well.
