Do you not consider the Ring title a proper title? It is usually held by the champ of a weight class.
Yes. It is better than the 4 "major titles." However, lineal and RING titles are all just opinions of an opinion-based establishing of division rankings. It's why some people consider certain fighters lineal champions while others, for whatever reasons of their own, do not recognize them as such.
The haters will say Dawson, but they wont believe it themselves when they write it. Most of Dawsons best wins are with fighters over a decade older than him. Dawson was blasted out in a round by a fighter who lost to D Boone. Dawson was outworked by Pascal who is known to fade at times. Dawson was stopped by Ward who cant punch as hard as Calzaghe. But the real tell tale sign is that Dawson was looking troubled by G Johnson who couldnt compete in Calzaghes SMW era. Lets remember how Dawson won a WBO title (not world) at SMW, decided against staying there, where Calzaghe was, went up to LHW to fight fighters like Johnson who had lost more than won at SMW, who gave Dawson a tough time. After Calzaghe retires, Dawson drops to SMW. Haters are gonna hate, but anyone who knows boxing, knows even that faded end of career Calzaghe clearly beats Dawson. Expect Calzaghe to win inside the distance with this one
why are they in YOUR eyes automatically haters for picking dawson. if YOU have a problem then you should address it in yourself, instead of attaching your failure to those who do not agree with you.
How was Reid poor opposition? Do you think Calzaghe lost that. Lets see a scorecard if you believe that. Hopkins got floored TWICE by Mercado, what does that mean? Answer nothing and we know Calzaghe got up from a punch that didnt have him on ***** street and had Hopkins holding on and looking for time out. Dawson was nearly KOd by faded G Johnson who Sheika beat for a shot at Calzaghe and we know what happened there.
Calzaghe is unproven at LHW. Whast Joe going to do? Apply pressure and workrate? Adamek did with only with more punch power and he lost an 11-1 shutout.
Must be a joke if you think Adamek at LHW was a major player. He went life and death with P Briggs twice who was KOd in a round and was apparently having trouble at the weight. Adamek was not at Calzaghes level and Calzaghe proved himself at LHW by beating the champ, who since then has gone on to be champ again and beaten 3 other reigning world champs at the weight :hi:
Dawson beat the same "champ" in a more convincing fashion and wasn't the fighter he was in 2009 so I don't see where you are going with this.
Calzaghe only fought one LHW of note and should of lost. Nard lost that fight before he entered the ring over his white boy comments. Dawson easily beat Hop , unlike Joe.
Who the hell thinks Calzaghe lost that fight? In the interview right after Reid admits Calzaghe won, it's on YouTube. And Reid was a damn good fighter. That was so much wrong bull**** in such a short statement...
So gents a Mdec in a second attempt is suddenly a clear win atsch. Do you really think a 4/5 year older Hopkins was the same? People try and make out a 5 year younger Hopkins was a different to the one Calzaghe beat, but suddenly a 5 year older Hopkins, Dawson beat on a second attempt is the same. Do answer, this will be amusing. If I go by your logic, then we have to recall how Dawson lost to Pascal who Hopkins beat . Better still Dawson lost to Pascal, who lost to Froch, who lost to Kessler who lost to CALZAGHE or Dawson lost to Stevenson who lost to Boone who lost to... Dawson lost to Ward who some think lost to Boone and felt drew with Bika... So where are you boys going with your triangle theories? D
Dawson certainly had a more convincing win over Hopkins than Calzaghe, if you believe otherwise then I am wasting my time. You said Hopkins went on to defeat three more light heavyweight champs to validate your point but that was after he lost to Dawson. I have no doubt that prime Dawson trained by Mayweather Sr. would beat Calzaghe. Calzaghe must have thought so also because he certainly didn't want to fight him.
