    Doubtful.

They only have the one common opponent in Macklin, and it could be argued that Maravilla was past prime then - I guess a prime Maravilla would be the one who beat Pavlik and stopped Dzindziruk, Williams and Barker.

I do agree that Maravillas speed and mobility could have given Golovkin problems, but equally GGGs talent for cutting off the ring would have forced Maravilla engage in some firefights where he'd be at a disadvantage.

Myself, I can see Sergio getting caught often enough to slow him down in the latter part of the fight - possibly enough to get caught in a more sustained assault and be stopped.

For all his speed and athleticism Maravilla was never the soundest fighter technically which could cost him against the more proficient boxer in Golovkin. I could see Sergio taking many of the early rounds, but struggling later as his edge in speed declines... maybe to UD or SD win but more likely IMO a GGG points or late stoppage victory.

The only outcome I actually see as quite improbable is a stoppage by Maravilla as you propose. Golovkin is remarkably good at applying relentless pressure while leaving very few significant openings to be exploited.

Actually the Geale fight could be quite revealing - I'm not going to go as far as to say Geale has a similar style to prime Maravilla but there are some commonalities in terms of speed and movement.

When did he duck him? When he was coming back from injuries and was clearly not in his prime anymore?

He only fought Murray as a tune up after coming back from an injury, and Cotto was to big off a money fight to turn down.

In fact before the Cotto lose he even talked about fighting GGG but he is clearly shot now.

Sergios has always been too limited, a one trick pony looking for counter lefts. running around like a chicken does not imply skill. that glass chin would have let him down rather sooner than later if they fought anyways

Don't think so, no. GGG chin looks to be iron. And Maravilla would have been too busy staying to the outside and at the end of his reach to land consistently of 3G.

    Win at points? Possible.

    Stoppage? Hell no.
