Best performers? Yes, without a doubt. Best anthem? I dont think we do. Its beautiful but other nations have anthems with more "pride". They go all out performing as to where ours is more sung.

No your Anthem should be sung respectfully not all ****ing showbiz diva like crap like Christina Agulera and Beyonce or some male singer like Chris Brown who drags the entire ****ing thing out, the best version of the US anthem i heard was a military choir it was very well sung and not over the top. Your anthem is different to a pop song and should be sung as such.

I like my anthem & La Marseillaise better.

Also, I don't like what you do with your anthem, in my opinion, an anthem must be solemn... sadly the Mexican singers that go to Las Vegas are starting to do the same :/

    That's called, artistry.
A song isn't meant to be ultra rigidity where it can't be modified due to interpretation. They are sang with expression, and expression is subjective.
Songs can always be improved, like that Bob Dylan song that was redone by Jimi Hendrix. Once Dylan heard Jimi's rendition he stopped playing it the way he wrote it and started doing all his concerts with Jimi's version, because it was better. :good

LOL. I would probably cringe if I heard Francis Scott's performing the original score of the American anthem.

I cringe most of the time our anthem is sung-it has been so *******ized over the years with so called performers it's cruel to the ears.
Germany and France has class written all over it and is far superior to the US anthem.:thumbsup

Our anthem has to be up there. MOST of our entertainers ruin it though. I hate when some pop star is chosen to sing. Most, with some exceptions, sound like crap outside of the studio. I'd rather hear amateurs who can sing do the anthem.
