Torrecampo obliterated Pac. Pac's excuse, it was a catchweight. FACT! Pac even admitted that was KEY to beating Cotto.

I hope that you also discount Mayweather's win over Canelo.

I doubt Floyd is scared of Manny Pacquiao however Manny is the only one out there that could potentially take the 0 and that's what Floyd doesn't want.

Floyd was definitely waiting for Pacquiao to slip and it MUST have been unnerving to watch him beat the crap out of all the above however looking at Floyd against Maidana it looks as though both legends are slipping and Floyds decision to wait May have backfired

My two pence worth.... They will fight next year and Pacquiao will win a SD

Would you give Floyd any credit if he fought and beat Danny Garcia?

In 2009 I thought Pac had no chance against Floyd and in 2014 I feel the same way, aint nothing changed. Pac still can't deal with pure boxers. well maybe I shouldn't say he can't deal with them but Pac doesn't do well with guys who fight off the back foot. I'm just going to name the most recent three that come to mind, Mosley, Marquez, Bradley...these guys fought Manny going backwards and Pac looked like ****. Yes he beat Bradley and Mosley but only because neither of them had the ability to make you miss and make you pay. Marquez can make you pay and Manny has paid dearly for 4 fights. Floyd also has that ability and he uses it brilliantly.

I know some will say look at the Maidana fight Floyd got roughed up but when does Manny ever rough up his opponents, put their backs on the ropes, use his weight to grab, hold, wrestle, tackle??? Never, Pac is actually a clean fighter in the ring...I dont know if he is clean outside the ring but he is not a dirty fighter inside the ropes. That wont help him against Floyd because between the two Floyd is actually the dirtier fighter when it comes to in ring tactics.

But again thats the thing, Floyd has tactics, Manny is too predictable and rely on the same tactics every fight. The one two is really his only combination. Floyd has dealt with that, has seen that, will not be phased by that. For me, the best defensive fighter will beat the best offensive fighter. If Manny not landing then he's getting countered which means he's losing the fight.

Floyd has multiple ways to win, Manny only has one, and considering Pac hasn't scored a knockout in years I don't see that happening. If the fight ever happens I predict Mayweather wins in dominant fashion, at the minimal 10 round to 2. I hope after the Maidana and Algieri fights this match happens so we can put this behind us and move on in the boxing world.

If Pacquiao and Mayweather fought in 2009 not only would Floyd have lost: he would have had to have been airlifted out of the arena in a full body brace.

Doubt it .. Floyd was even more physically gifted as he is now, add that on top of one of the best boxing IQ to date, he just out boxes Pac.

You pac are all alike you think speed and power is the key. Marquez showed several times that a sharp boxing mind beats Pac every time.

09 Saw pac fighting fighter that where damaged mentally by previous losses.

In 2009 Floyd was very worried about pacquiaos power and potentially being hurt. It wasn't tongue in cheek, there's ample video evidence. The fighter himself thought he could lose, I think it's about time his fans wake up and acknowledge that reality.

To answer in more depth, Bernstein gives a good summation of the match up at 9:20

This analysis was vindicated by the Maidana fight. Mayweather's strength is his defence. His weakness is his defence. He doesn't deal with activity well enough. When pressed enough he locks down and doesn't effectively retaliate. I think even in 2014 Pac would outwork him and do enough to take it on the cards (at least).
