i got to give rigo props, if that was lara he would have touched gloves jumped back and did a couple laps around the ring before throwing hands.
funny ****. and floyd would've grabbed the guys arm so he could check the glove to make sure the pillow was still properly covering the knuckles.
Did Larry Merchant harass him in a post-fight interview and then threaten to kick his ass if only he were 50 years younger?
if triple G had pulled that stunt, he would've lost me as a fan. but everyone knows he has far too much class to even think about it.
Legal but cheap. Kokietgym's feet weren't set to punch. His hands were up but his posture wasn't defensive. What makes it really cheap -- versus just vaguely cheap -- is that Rigo did the most cursory of glove taps and then hooked off of that motion. If you're going to touch gloves you should do it in 'custom' of the sport as dictated by countless examples. The trolls on here will parrot 'protect yourselves at all time' (and then throw in an emoticon like they're a 12 year old girl), if they would stop intentionally antagonizing for a minute I think they would agree that enough precedence has been set that touching gloves has a ritual and a rhythm all it's own, and this wasn't it. What sucks is that Rigo is talented enough that he didn't need to resort to this kind of thing.
