Ya he was a late starter but is more skilled than mitchell, this should be a good fight and could go either way....if I was asked a year ago I would have said Perez would win hands down but it will depend on wat shape Perez is in mentally and physically, Jennings seems to be in top shape for all fights so its 50/50 but Im hoping Mike can win this and push on.
A lot of guys at work watch boxing too, and none of them knew who Perez was for a long time. I kept talking about him, so I am backing him for this fight. I've also been saying for years now that all Heavy's only know how to fight like the big guy in the ring, Perez is the first Heavy in a long time I've seen that KNOWS how to fight as the shorter man.
True....but he seemed to have lost that explosive edge against Takam, hopefully its just a one off but now that he's been trained by Adam Booth you would wonder what kind of tactics will be employed. He will be shorter by two inches in this fight and weigh roughly the same.
Ya I believe Takam is under-rated and is not worth the risk for most inside the top ten at heavyweight,I hope your right as it makes Perez look slightly better.I still believe on top of his game Perez beats Takam but we'l see next week just how good either is....will any of them give trouble to Stiverne??
Which was one HELL of a war. We knew both of them could hit HARD going into the fight, so the fact they both lasted as long as they did was insane.
Thats why Im giving it the edge to Perez,no way could he have been mentally and physically 100% going into the Takam fight....but with Mago slightly improving and with a nice break since the Takam fight I hope to see Perez back on his game.Take nothing away from Jennings though,he'l want to show he's top dog in the usa...
Perez is better and I exepct him to win by close decision. But won't be surprised if Jennings takes it due to home advantage.
This ^. I think Perez absolutely has the ability if he's back to 100%. He didn't look great against Takam, but he can't have been in top shape, especially mentally, and I'd rate Takam as better than Jennings anyway. Still - this should be an interesting fight.
I don't think Jennings will have the crowd. Golovkin is the main attraction and the crowd will be largely made up of his fans. Im sure Jennings has a substantial ticket interest, and then there's the locals who'll make the 2 hr drive, but I wouldnt think the crowd would factor into the judges opinions in terms of an advantage on Jennings behalf. Now, if this fight were in Trenton NJ, or Philly or even AC.....yeah, I could see a huge Jennings fanbase cheering at every jab he lands.:think
No easy Jennings knockout.....Perez takes big hits as he proved in the Mago fight, even Takam is no small hitter. If Perez cant finish it early then it goes to cards, cant see Jennings putting him down!
