What if Jones fought Rocchigiani, Eubank, Benn, Collins, and Michalczewski in his prime?

    Have you been before?

I absolutely loved it, but it's taken me 5 days to recover.

    Do you like indie music?

There's an indie bar called Alex's, and the DJ is a huge Leeds Utd fan.

I had a right laugh with him. Everytime I requested a song that he liked, he gave me a free shot of Jager.

If you haven't been, pay him a visit.

Me and my mates were dancing on the tables until 4am every night.

    It was mental!

Prior to facing Jones Sosa was already stopped by Liles and floored by Toney.
Not to mention all his wars.
How shot was Sosa when he fought Jones? much more shot than Jones was 4 yrs after fighting Sosa.
I would say about as shot as Jones in 2008, give some, take some

I'd say that's quite a lot of praise from The Ring magazine for a shot fighter... best chin among all weights and the hardest puncher at 175 pounds, as well as the most exciting light heavyweight to watch.

    frankenfrank,

I enjoy debating on here, and if people don't agree with me, and hold a different opinion, then that's cool and I respect that.

As long as they explain why, using logic.

But your posts are just hateful rants.

You aren't looking for an objective debate.

I've just read what you've wrote about Roy on the Haye thread in the general.

You've labelled him a glass jawed fraud who would have been knocked out by Braithwaite and Gomez. :patsch

    What are you talking about?

Over the years, Toney has spoken of wanting a rematch, but he didn't in the post fight interview, and that tells me a lot.

You mean you don't want to, because it doesn't tie in with your agenda.

He was a good fighter, and it was a very good win for Toney.

You're saying that Roy was running out of gas, and knew what was coming, so he hit Griffin while he was down.

Is that what you're saying, or have I read it wrong?

Roy was on his way to stopping him.

    Wow, you really hate Roy.

James Toney did not fight in the LHW division in 2002.

I asked you how many LHW's were queuing up to fight Ruiz in 2002.

I know they weren't the first.

I asked how many fighters have gone up since?

You can count them on one hand.

    WTF?

    Ha!

Seriously, what's the point in me continuing to debate with you?

    It wasn't a real win?

It could have been scored for Ruiz?

    I'm lost for words.

You must be taking some good ****.

    And what happened?

    I know who he is.

    You're a joker.

    :patsch

So, Hopkins beat Roy in 1993, the Ruiz win shouldn't count, and Roy's 50 fights, were really 20, because all the guys he fought were bums?

I bow down to your great knowledge. :rofl

    frankenfrank,

    Heard it all before.

How many great fighters have fought other great fighters, when both guys were in their prime?

    It's very rare.

Lennox Lewis and Floyd Mayweather have never beaten ATG's while they were prime.

Back to your list, you said previously that Roy started out at 154, and now you're saying he didn't have a single fight there.

He fought Ricky Stackhouse at 154 pounds.

    A well past it Hill?

He was past his best, but he'd recently beaten Maske and then went on to beat Tiozzo in a round, two years after Roy had crushed him in just four rounds.

Also, Roy was the only person to knock him out in 57 fights, and Hill went on to fight CW's.

His win over Tate was also a great win. More hating from you.

Reggie Johnson was also past his best, but he was still a very good fighter.

What about Griffin, Toney, Hopkins, Ruiz etc?

Oh wait, one was sick as cancer, one wasn't really a win, one doesn't count, and the other one was a scam.

How the hell could Tarver have been FRESHER, when Roy had twice as many fights, and he'd had to burn muscle to make weight??

    You're hilarious!

If he avoided danger, he wouldn't still be fighting.

    Oh the irony.

Boxrec his weights and watch the fights. :good

    You've also contradicted yourself.

    What are you talking about?

    No you didn't.

    Do it objectively.

    Talks never got that far.

Neither guy was willing to travel.

    But Roy didn't duck him.

Brad Jacobs and Kerry Davis tried to make the fight.

Not at all, they were his biggest critics.

    Ok.

List all of the fighters that he ducked, with some proof.

    I'll be waiting.

Regarding your previous post, it is idiotic, ignorant, biased and was already answered in this thread.

    Sanchez fought LaPorte
    Carbajal fought Castro
Raul Perez ,Jose Canizales and Miguel Lora all fought each other. Perez and Canizales even fought each other 2 times.
Morales fought Pacuiao 2 times in his prime
Pacquiao fought Marquez about 2 times during their prime
Jorge Castro and Reggie Johnson fought 2 times
Reggie Johnson fought Steve Collins and James Toney
    Duran fought Mamby and Hagler
    Norris fought McCall
These were just really modren examples.
There are more and even more going more back in time.

And neither was a great fighter.

    You are a liar.
    Where did I "say" it?

Great. So he had 2 fights at 154 during his career.
Still he did not start his career at 154, but rather at 160.
160 was too hard for him to make.

Are you asking it for the sake of being quoted?
    Hill was well past it.
Makes you feel better I repeat it?
Hill was exposed by Thomas Hearns as a weak titlist, and got his "lineal" status taken from him by Michalczewski previously.
Worth mentioning how even a hometown primadona like Hill could travel to Germany to take on both Maske and Michalczewski and to the UK to take on Thadzi, and Roy could not.

Which was Maske's last fight for a long while for some reason
Hill was a hometown fighter. Worse than Ruiz.

Because Hill was a highly protected hometown fighter. Worse than Ruiz.

Coming from an ignorant liar I really take it seriously now.

Not just past his best, but also at a weight where he did not belong.
    Typical Glass Joyd fight.

did i not answer these already?

    another lie from you.
Roy weighed in 193 for Ruiz. You know why? mainly because he did not have to dehydrate the way he had to make 175.
Tarver gained more weight than Roy in each 1 of their fights.
You know why? because he was bigger and more drained @ 175 than Roy was.
Tarver was after a long time cocaine abuse. Roy was not.
Tarver also had a lengthy amateur career so he was not as fresh as someone else with his amount of pro fights.
Also, due to fighting dead undersized corpses of opponents, Roy took less punishment than Tarver took in his way to fighting Roy.

    Michalczewski (mutual)
    Reggie Johnson while at 160
    Toney at 175 and above
    Lamar Parks
    Hopkins rematch at 160
    McClellan at 160
Lou Del Valle rematch at 175
    Eric Harding rematch at 175
Cheated in the 1st fight vs Griffin, then scammed their 2nd, Both cases are even worse than a formal ducking.
    Everyone at HW

    I bet there are more.

    frankenfrank,

    Ha!

    Frank,

I'll continue to debate with you, because it's hilarious reading your hateful rants.

I asked how many GREAT fighters, have fought other GREAT fighters while both guys were prime.

A prime example would be SRL vs Hearns.

It's quite a rare thing in boxing.

    Look at your examples.

Steve Collins, Norris and McCall etc?

Since when have they been classed as GREAT fighters?

I said Roy started out at MW, then he fought at JMW.

He started out weighing just over 154 at MW.

You said "a quote to behold, 154" meaning that he started out at 154.

Ha! I know what he did.

You're tying yourself up in knots.

You originally said he started out at 154.

Then you said he never had 1 fight at 154.

He started his career at 157.

He wasn't well past it, and it was still an impressive stoppage by Roy. Nobody ever knocked out Hill like that.

Why should the worlds best fighter, have had to travel to Germany?

You can say what you want.

Hill was past his best, but he wasn't shot to ****, and if you're not going to give Roy any credit for that 4th round body shot, then you're a hater.

    Stop hating!

    You're just looking sad.

He was past his best, I've never said otherwise.

But you have to exaggerate and won't give Roy credit for anything.

Roy got weighed in his dressing room, just before the fight, on HBO's scales. It registered 199, and if you knocked off three pounds for clothes, he weighed 196. Respected sports writer Thomas Hauser reported that, and everyone in Roy's camp said that the official weigh in weight was incorrect.

Alton Merkerson had also stated that Roy kept his Ruiz physique, in the hope of signing a mega fight at HW in the summer of 2003. Roy walked away from a Corrie Sanders fight because he didn't feel it was paying enough, and a fight with Evander Holyfield was a whisker away from being made, until Murad Muhammad and Don King got too greedy. Evander actually signed to fight Toney for less money, because he was so pissed with King. Evander's former attorney Jim Thomas has disclosed that in his book.

When a HW fight didn't materialise, he signed for Tarver and the weight had to come off. Mackie Shilstone had built Roy up, and he had a very low body fat percentage.

The weight had to be taken off quickly, and Roy had to burn through actual muscle to make weight.

Burning muscle and burning fat are two very different things.

Tarver didn't have to burn any muscle, and he was unbelievably motivated, after crashing the post fight press conference with Ruiz and baiting Roy all year at every opportunity. Again, he'd only fought 22 times.

Roy had fought 50 times, and had been through 5 divisions.

It doesn't matter how many amateur fights Tarver had fought, he was much fresher than Roy.

Only an idiot would argue otherwise.

How the hell could Tarver have been more drained, when again, Roy had to burn muscle to make weight?

I didn't ask you to reel off a load of names.

I asked you to list the guys he DUCKED, with proof.

Roy missed a lot of good fights at 160, because his father overprotected him, and had him fight nobodies in Pensacola.

His career only took off, when they split, and he signed with HBO.

    A Hopkins rematch at 160?

Why would Roy have wanted a rematch? He'd beaten him with a fractured hand, and then quickly moved up to 168. They fought in different weight divisions, and he had nothing to prove or to gain from a rematch. By 1996, they were two divisions apart.

    Del Valle rematch?

    Ha! Why?

    A Harding rematch?

Why on earth would Roy have wanted a rematch?

What would he have gained from that?

Roy had mandatories from three organisations, and was looking at fighting Dariusz M around the time.

    James Toney?

Roy felt he'd got nothing to prove, and they were in different weight classes.

    He scammed Griffin?

    Everyone at HW?

You don't know what you're talking about.

I was aware of it when I replied

A hypejob taking on an overly drained weight cutter just in the right time.
    Neither of them was great.

You asked so I replied. I classify better than you baboons imitating 1 another.

You are a liar. Quote me to show otherwise.
Your incomprehension is only an attempt to rescue yourself from being shown as a liar.

157 is not lightmiddleweight, it is middleweight.

He was never the world's best fighter and whomever claimed it should better be burned alive.
Even Hill did it, so he could do it too, which was the idea of that comparison.

Did not claim that he was shot to ****, but Thomas Hearns' handlers knew when was the right time to "fight" him.
    Probably Michalczewski's handlers too.

He pays them money, they say what he wants.

Alton Merkerson in regards to Roy is about as credible as Mirena in regards to Ali.

He always had a very low body fat percentage.

He did not burn out any muscle. At most he had to concede a bit glucagon and water stored in his muscles, and above all, dehydrate the way he always did.

Tarver gained more weight after their weighing in. I already typed it.
I already answered everything you claim here

I will not do internet search for your likes. If you wanted to know, you would have done it by yourself.
If I did it for you, you wiould have still ignored it or distorted it, or pretended
to comprehend something entirely different to my cases.

    Suppose

Roy never "proved" anything because "he always felt that he got nothing to prove".

Might had been Murad Muhammad, but Roy knew about it for sure, hence his unusually aggressive opening in it.

I know, you do not, or you do some, but lie intentionally.
