This result didn't really surprise me - I'm not sure why Lacy didn't fight Beterbiev but I was expecting Artur to stop him as well.

Can't comment on the switch around accusation, but it seems pretty improbable - I mean, surely someone woulda noticed? And if Savigne really is unable to make LHW it'll be found out soon enough anyway.

Anyways, interesting days at 175, with 3 top ams in Savigne, Beterbiev and Mekhontsev all coming through the ranks on the heels of 2013 breakouts Kovalev and Stevenson there should be some very good fights to be made in a year or two.

That Cuban sure did put on a lot of weight in between the weigh-in and the fight, but I don't think it is a different person.

If they put in a double, it's a damn good one.

looks the same guy to me, but there's always the chance he used some shady things to make weight like G. Jones did.
Lacy was pretty stupid too dropping his defence complaining while still in striking distance

And where the F does that "journeyman" label come from? He has an early career defeat, but he's a legit top 20 fighter. Plus a decorated former amature on top of that.

That Cuban was way too big, he shouldn't even be allowed to fight at Light Heavy, dude is at minimal a Cruiserweight

Beterbiev had to pull out after breaking one of his fingers.

I've listened to quite a few Lacy interviews over the course of the last five years and it's pretty clear to me he's lost the plot a little. It's sad. He sounds like a broken man. The fall from grace after losing to Calzaghe, and in particular the treatment he's subsequently received from fans, especially his own people, and losing his brother hit him very hard indeed. He often speaks about how one minute he was at the top of the world, how he was a thunderous punching killer and the future of the sport and that everybody wanted to know him, and the next he was a bum and everybody disappeared and the phone stopped ringing. I feel really sorry for him.

    yeah, I know.

I was big on Lacy and had his back throughout. But the way he was treated by many of his fair weather fans after the loss is embarrassing.:-(

I actually thought his KO loss to Roy Jones was even worse, I mean the old Roy put a beating on Jeff

He's really delusional. He actually convinced himself that he was gong to beat Beterbiev. He's been shot to **** for years but he's desperately still trying to recapture something that's no longer there because he has a deep yearning for acceptance and vindication from the treatment he subsequently received from 'fans'.

I'm talking about the psychological impact his fall from grace had on him after that fight and beyond, mainly because of treatment he was subsequently subjected to by fans. That's what really hit him hardest more than anything. He's still clearly affected by it now.

Who replaced Savigne? Is there an identical look-a-like that's so good they thought "damn, lets use this guy instead?"
