I miss the days when Pavlik was lineal middleweight champ

Pavlik was fun to watch for the most part, but his MW reign was awful

 

Pavlik was clearly vastly overrated due to his being american

 

If GGG was there as Pavlik's #1 contender, at least Kelly would've fought him and given him his chance.

Yes, Kelly Pavlik was the Fighter of the Year in 2007. A lot of people forget that because of the B-Hop fight, and how the rest of his career played out.

In his prime, he would have stopped any one of your so called "bumper crop" of UK middleweights. The Ghost beats Murray, Macklin, Barker et al.

My old man used to like a british boxer called john h stracey who once won the world welterweight title by stopping Jose napoles in Mexico . Now that made stracey the man that beat the man and of course napoles was a much better world champion and boxer than Taylor . That said my old man would not attempt to try to convince anyone that stracey was any better than he actually was . The truth is pavlik was a fighter that over achieved he was and is overrated by a lot of yanks simply because he is american if he were a European fighter Americans would say in Taylor he beat a poor champion with a stamina problem
