If ggg has a spectacular ko this weekend I think they'll make the fight. It would sell out MSG and do respectable ppv. Cotto isn't afraid of ggg he's fought all the best of his time.

It would be good for boxing to match any/all the following boxers: Cotto, Canelo, GGG and Chavez Jr.

You think cottos afraid of him? I can't see it. I think cotto just wants big money fights. A spectacular win by ggg would elevate his status and make the fight appealing to Miguelito.

GGG isn't a draw. So unless someone agrees to guarantee the pay its not going to happen. And forget about the damn belt. Nobody cares about the belt. He had the belt already. Money is the only thing important here

Based on the Cotto/Martinez PPV results, one can easily argue that Cotto is not much of a draw either. I'm pretty convinced Cotto/GGG would do better than the Martinez fight though. Unfortunately for Cotto, he would come out on the losing end but it would set up GGG for other high profile fights.

GGG is a minor draw, just not a major one. He might be a top10 draw at this point, depends on how many tickets at MSG are sold. But dont be too surprised if the live gate and TV ratings dont surpass Chavez Jr's last fight.

He might end up as high as 5th biggest draw in North America, just behind the Big Four PPV guys. The GYM operation (Stevenson/Pascal) up in Montreal and Chavez Jr are more or less the competition for 5th place.

Of course in Europe there is Froch, Wlad, Kessler and Sturm.

At this point Yes. He has far higher ratings than Maravilla has had in the past. Which bums me out since Maravilla is my favorite boxer.

It sounds nuts, but in america, I think he does. I don't think martinez could do the numbers ggg is doing at MSG on his own. Sergio speaks virtually no English and is South American. His crossover appeal isn't as big as a powerful, smiling, perceived white, fighter. If Sergio could speak English I have no doubt he'd be a huge star. He speaks incredibly well and is extremely charismatic.

Ironically Sergio is whiter than GGG.
Maravilla is Greek and Spanish both white, GGG Russian and Korean.

That's what's crazy about it, most white fans won't identify with a white, Spanish only speaking, Latino but they will identify with a mixed European/Asian they consider a White Russian lol
